NailNail art book
I hope it's ok for me to post this! I am really excited that I can tell everyone now that I am currently writing a nail book which will be all about nail art, nail polish etc. and to show off the talent of people in the UK and Ireland and I am looking for people to contribute to the book in different ways. I currently have nail techs, profession nail artists, bloggers and people who love nail polish/nail art contributing so if anyone else would like to contribute please email me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] :)you don't need to be a professional or a blogger, just have a love of nails and something to contribute
I also have another project which I'll be able to announce soon and people from all over the world will be involved so hopefully it'll be ok if I receive this thread then to see if anyone will be interested in that

Tara, to be honest I think the internet has blitzed the market for this kind of book. I use Bloglovin and it's like having a bang up to date personalised magazine dropped in my inbox every day. Books that I would have loved to read years ago I now find very restrictive, they have no search facility to delve deeper as we've become accustomed to on the net. I can find tutorials, too and if I don't understand or don't like the presentation an alternative is a couple of clicks away. All the pictures and info I'd ever want I'd head straight to my laptop for. Nail fashions change so quickly too, and printed matter just can't compete with cyberville.
I hope this is a useful comment, I don't want to rain on your parade at all but I thought you may appreciate my honest thoughts. (And if I did have anything to contribute I'd want a share of any profits from sales ).

It needs to make money Tara - it's going to cost a lot to produce. Will enough people buy it to cover the production and marketing costs (and would the contributors really write for free?), what's the true demand for the product? Oooh, get me, Mrs Dragon's Den.....!! I'm just being a negative Yin to your positive Yang Tara and trying to help - which book were you in?

I'm not doing it to make money, I'm doing it to promote the talent and passion of people if people don't want to contribute that's fine but so far I have so much amazing content for the book and I'm so happy! Just wanted to give everyone the opportunity to be included but in no way offended etc if people don't want to and I had enough content written myself to include if no one wanted to be involved. I'm really excited that peoe want to be involved in both my projects though! I was in a book called the nail canvas and my work was also displayed at a university, it was so much fun and I contributed for the exposure rather than paymentLoolaBeanbag wrote:It needs to make money Tara - it's going to cost a lot to produce. Haha! You would make a fab business advisor! Dragons den need you as the presenter rather than that guy who's on there! I don't think you're being negative! It's helpful to hear lots of opinions and I'm grateful you took the time to respond with yours!

Thank you Tara, I'm so relieved that you took my well meant comments as intended. I don't think they'd give me a job on Dragon's Den though, I swear too much and they'd need a wide angle lens to get my arse on the screen

You should give Kelly Hoppen a call, she knows everything so I wouldn't be surprised if she was a nail art afficionado too!
