Words you love and hate

Post  Laura on Mon Sep 16, 2013 1:18 am

Was thinking about this in the car to Wembley last night, what words do you love/hate?

For me I love goblin, spatula, trundle, button and twinkle

I hate musty, runny, clinic, gusset and epic

Malc (which some "people" seem to think is a valid contraction of Malcolm, my name).  It is not, it is just pure laziness.  Hate this, SO much Evil or Very Mad

Always puzzled by the dislike of gusset, never understood.  Smegma, that's just gross!

I like transmogrification Smile

I like epic - my 9 year old niece likes epic so I probably shouldn't. I also like the word fab and I know I shouldn't but I like it. And yo as in breaking bad. Yo yo ho?

I hate star - as in your a star. Hate it.

I also hate the word moist.

transmogrification is a lovely word Smile

I hate literally when people mean figuratively - I know the OED accept it as a valid usage, but I don't!

Razz Skanky, belly (I was putting that before I'd seen yours Laura!), basically, hun, mouth, pie, os.

I love you Blanket, puddle, carrot, geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen (no -one said they had to be English! this one's a long time favourite), knob.

LOL. With a passion. In fact any text talk except WTF Smile School children are apparently starting to put lol instead of exclamation marks in their writing. It makes me shudder. Even more so that some teachers probably think it's OK - I'm well known for correcting school letters and communication and sending it back to the school. They love me.........Smile

there's a time and place for lol though - I generally hate text speak, but I'll admit that lol can be handy in some circumstances...

I do like geschwindigkeitsbeschränkungen Loola - what does it mean?

I HATE nom (as in nomnomnom)  I've no idea why but it irritates the hell out of me.
I like lots of swear words - wanker, tosser, dickhead, fuckwit......
I've recently rediscovered "molish" which I love.  I suspect its not in the dictionary but I don't care Razz
