Nail files Empty Nail files

I will admit that I just use bog standard emery boards/files from Superdrug (the wide grey ones, not the brown ones, they set my teeth on edge!) Should I really be using something a bit better ,and if so, is there anything that won't break the bank ?!

I don't really know Sue. I'm using the Ciate glass file that I bought on the half price offer, I really like it and it seems much silkier and less gritty than the emery selection that I had previously. It also seems quicker and doesn't leave a jaggedy edge.

I used a glass file for a while, but now just the thought of it goes through me pale I just use a Barry M file I got free from NPD - it's rough and quick so I don't have to waste too much time filing!

I was given the Leighton Denny glass file at Christmas. Have to admit to tutting when I found out the price, but it really is the best nail file I've ever used. It leaves my my nail edge smooth, has helped reduce splitting and is good for taking a lot off quickly if you need to.

I genuinely have no idea about nail files, I just use a cheapo one that does the job ok!! haha

I might get a glass one in the future but it's not something I want or need just now Very Happy

I like glass ones. I just bought one from Tesco for £5 and am happy with it. I also bought a metal one called diamond from Kiko, which is surprisingly good, quite fine and very good on toe nails.

I bought a Leighton Denny from amazon, it is pricey but it's meant to last a lifetime and it is a lot better than the emery boards I used to use.

I had a glass one but the Leighton Denny is soooo much better. It is pricey but I'd pay it again in a second if this one went missing.

Got a glass QVS one - don't really like it Smile I've gone back to the grey emery boards...

I got a Leighton Denny crystal one, it's really good. Takes length down quickly and easy to clean. I got mine from Boots and used a load of points to pay for it.

I keep it in my work drawer just now, but will probably get another one soon for the house.

I just buy the cheapest ones I can find. Very Happy I can't use glass ones, they set my teeth on edge. Even reading about them is making me shudder. Neutral

I alternate between the Leighton Denny Crystal file and a bog standard emery board. The glass ones used to set my teeth on edge too but I guess I've just got used to it. What a Face

The glass files do take length down quickly, but I actually find that the nail edge is not left as smooth so I use my emery board to finish off. Smile

I run the smoothest side of the nail buffer over my nail edges once I've finished filing them. I like the way it leaves them feeling super smooth and not catching on anything.

I love the LD crystal file, have never used anything else since I bought that. Well worth the money, I would have probably spent what the LD cost in emery boards by now and the LD is still going strong.

I do like the way the LD crystal file looks as good as new once you run it under water. Very Happy
