Re: shellac polish
Come and join me on the gel side backhoe!! I'm still using Gelish, and have found some other brands I like too. Are you wearing it alone or under regular polish?

Have had it on alone so far. It seems to be peeling quite easily tho. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Re: shellac polish
From what I've read, peeling is usually blamed on be over/under curing. I find that the cleanse and bond before base/foundation helps, I used to just cleanse and base. I've also found that buffing helps, the foundation sticks better to a roughened surface, a bit like gloss paint not adhering to unsanded wood! My nails are usually buffed then polished to a shine and this makes the gel peel, rough buffing makes a big difference. I've not found any difference between Harmony Gelish and CCO Gelish, the cheaper copies work just as well for me.
I use mainly black and white as a base for regular polish over the top, so I can remove the regular and still have shiny painted nails underneath to layer on again. These are good and cheap....

£2.44 upwards, with the free delivery over a tenner. I have the white, aqua, peach and a red (the latter for my sister!). They're a US brand priced between $9.99 and $14.95 on their site:

Re: shellac polish
When you say cleanse and bond do you mean the primer and wipe off gel stuff (hoping you know what I mean. lol)
Also how long do you cure for? I've got Bluesky gel polish and it says 2 minutes.

Cleanse and bond, the liquid you wipe over with, then the bonder (dehydrator) that you paint on before foundation. I generally cure for 2 minutes for lights, 3 for dark (non LED lamp) x

I am in the market for a gel nail starter kit (for my toe nails mainly). Any tips/hints/recommendations?

Re: shellac polish
This is the one I bought. When I have needed new supplies I get them off ebay. However uv gel thermal polishes are now my in thing and are lasting a good two to three weeks. I usually only take the colour off cos Im bored with it. Not because its chipped.

Re: shellac polish
Thanks
I bought a set from Amazon that came with two CCO colours. I had my first attempt late on Thurs night and I am very pleased with how it has lasted so far...especially since my application could have been better! As a regular colour changer I now have to be patient so I can see how long it lasts!
