recommend a base coat? Empty recommend a base coat?

Can any of you lovely ladies recommend a good base coat that makes polish last? I liked the sound of Orly Bonder until I read a load of reviews saying it doesn't prevent staining. I use a lot of dark colours and only really have time to polish about once a week - so I need something that prevents staining and makes polish last. Any suggestions??

I personally use nail envy. It doesn't make it last as I find that it's the top coat which does that.

I've been using Sally Hansen Age Correct No Chip Base & Top Coat which I've had for ages. It's actually pretty good but I think it's been discontinued now unfortunately.

I use Matte Nail envy over chip skip for a base coat. the matte envy as its not glossy helps the laquer stick better to the nail. For top coat its seche vite all the way

Is it any good? Maybe I ought to give it a go as I have ridges on my thumbnails - I'm sure I saw some reduced to £2.50 the other day. Surprised
