XL Stamper?
Does anyone have an XL stamper? If so, what's the diameter? I've been looking at them on eBay today but they don't seem to be much bigger (2.7cm) than my konad stamper (2.5cm).

Re: XL Stamper?
Hi, I have one I bought from Llarowe - its about 5-6mm wider than my konad stamper which is significantly bigger. The only problem I have with it is that the silicone stamper part keeps falling out of the handle - not good! I have tried all sorts to keep it in place but nothing works for long. It looks the same as the ones I saw on ebay. I got a refund from Llarowe with no problem. Might try 'no nails' next to hold it in lol. If it wasn't for that, it would be a lot better than the konad one. Better at picking up polish and brilliant for my wider nails.

Re: XL Stamper?
I have a black XL stamper from a facebook company Fab Ur Nails (their stamping plates are awesome). It's my favourite stamper. I sometimes have problems with it coming apart but I usually use it without the handle anyway. When you pop it out the handle you can squidge the stamper to widen / lengthen the image, great for the rare times my nails grow a bit
I then got another XL stamp but it was lilac and it's rubbish. It doesn't even pick up anything. I've heard that lightly buffing can help with this.

Thanks guys. I've ordered one from ebay. It's coming from China so will probably take several weeks to arrive (if it ever does). If it turns out to be rubbish I'll give one of the others a try.

I've noticed stuff coming from China, Born Pretty Store mainly (which I think is in China.....?!) coming super quickly recently.

Did you try sticking it in place? I have the same one and OH tried with superglue but its actually made it worse! I was considering double sided table but then had another idea - the handle is hollow so I wonder if I could fill it with somethign like that expanding foam - although that's a bit uncontrollable so maybe not. I wonder if silicon sealant might be the thing.
Hmm. I can't decide what to do as I don't want to wreck it even more!

I did try sticking it yes lol. Tried no nails - that kind of pushed the silicone part out as it dried lol. Silicone doesn't stick to silicone, so that's not an option. I have some other sealant in it atm but that isn't holding it. I like the idea of taking it out of the holder altogether (TattyScone) - seems like an obvious solution really! When mine falls out again, that's what I will be doing xx

I've ordered a couple of cheap ones from china to experiment with, before I wreck the expensive Llarowe one any more!

Re: XL Stamper?
I finally got my stamper from China. Much the same as all the others by the sounds of things, the silicone keeps falling out. I find it too squishy to use it without the handle so I'm persevering with sticking it back in after each stamp. The other thing I find is that it sinks in too far into the handle, I could do with coming up with some way to pack out the handle to stop it sinking in.

I sorted that problem with some bunched up loo roll, but I think that makes the popping out worse.
It really is bloody annoying!

Re: XL Stamper?
Ooh I've just had an idea. I wonder if I could get a little pot tamper and glue the silicon bit directly to it. Of course that involves finding the right sized tamper AND something that will actually stick silicon.
Mmm.
Mmm.

I'll await the results of your experiment (aka I'll wait and see if you ruin your stamper before I try it )

Re: XL Stamper?
I ordered the XL stamper from ninja polish the other day, so I will report back when that arrives. But, I have faith it will be excellent.
Re: XL Stamper?
OK having managed to scrape off most of the superglue residue for OHs failed attampt, and having searched far and wide for a glue that will stick silicone (and failed other than from US ebay for $50 shipping!!!)
I started thinking about what I have in the house. I considered double sided sticky tape or glue dots - partly to fill the gap as I think part of the problem is the silicon thing is fractionally too small wgich led me to a temporary solution that isn't perfect but definitely helps and does no damage - an elastic band!
Largeish elastic band wrapped twice round the silcon bit then carefully wedged back in and it definiltey didn't pop out so mucy - only really when I stamped straght on rather than rolling. the silicon still slowly descents inside the handle so I think I need more packing behind it but I seem to be making progress!

Sally Magpie wrote:No more nails, or filler foam. This will fix ANYTHING
I'm not sure it will work sticking plastic to silicone. Silicone is a bugger as it either repels whatever you use (so it peels off) or the adhesive melts the silicone (the superglue sort of burned it and made the problem worse)
No more nails is meant for porous surfaces like wood isn't it? Great stuff but nothing works for all surfaces unfortunately.
The filler foam is what I'm considering to fill the empty handle to stop the silicon pad from slipping slowly inside it, but I suspect it won't stick to the silicone at all and the sodding pad will still ping out.
Part of the difficulty is trying to google for something that will stick silicon to something else as I just keep ending up with pages and pages of silicone sealant which is NOT what I want.
Actually googling made me realise the place to ask - MSE - so I've posted a new thread.

Metoo. If we ever find one that does stay stuck together maybe Sally could buy in bulk and stock them?
