Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
These are my second guilty pleasure. I'm mainly a tart burner and love yankee and a couple of fantastic eBay sellers that I have found. I also buy yankee sampler votive candles and chop them into four for my burners.

Errr yes, I also seem to have amassed a small collection of Yankee Candles. I love the cinnamon ones, cherries on snow and I also have a white gardenia one which OH bought me last year.
I have a tart burner too but I haven't actually got around to using it yet!

Yep, another Yankee addict
I have a couple of tart burners and a few jars. I've not actually bought any for about 12 months though because Home Bargains had the tarts early last year at 29p and I cleaned out my local one.....still got half a bag full

Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
They're like oil burners, but instead of burning oil you break off a piece of wax tart (which is basically a small disc shaped flat candle) and melt it over a tea light and it emits a lovely fragrance.shoppingaddict wrote:What the frig are tart burners?!!

You can get them on eBay, b and q, garden centres etc. this is a link to my fave eBay seller, she does the tarts in packs of 12 and has 250 fragrances. Honestly I'm addicted to her scents, my faves are the lush copies, snow fairy and candy fluff

If anyone lives near a boundary mills, they are usually a great source for things like this.

They only had a few scents, linen, sea breeze I think and eucalyptus but for that price I wasn't complaining. They never had them in again though so must have been a clearance line they got.
If you have a b&m bargains near you though they have jelly belly and m&m candles at 99p which are a bit of a bargain.
Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
I love scented candles but I struggle to find decent ones on a budget.
Years ago I had some cookie scented ones that left my bedroom smelling incredible! They were discontinued and I never found anything similar

I found a couple of nice cinnamon candles in Savers for £1.00. I'm not sure what other scents they sell, but it might be worth a look.

Ooh I might have to have a look in there when I'm next in Crawley, thanks Babafette
I'd love a Yankee Candle but I can't justify the cost!

Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
No problem, I think they were by Pan Aroma. TK Maxx sometimes have nice reduced candles in their homewares section too.
Yankee Candles are expensive, but they do smell lovely and they burn for a long time. Last year I found an old medium sized Yankee Spiced Apple Housewarmer candle in a charity shop for £1.50! They're usually nearly £15.00 so I was well chuffed.

That's what makes the tarts so brilliant, they are really cheap and I get about 4 days of good burning fragrance from one in my warmer

I bought 2 tarts today. I popped into the garden centre at lunchtime and they had loads. They smell amazing! And seem less messy than oil
Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
From what I've read on here you could get cheap lifelike alternatives from aliexpress

I used to love scented candles, and had loads. But then I went and bought a thatched cottage and now, due to my insurance policy, I can't have them . Then, I found Scentsy ... Electric warmers that melt specially formulated scented wax - perfect! All the benefits of a scented candle, but without the naked flame! Yay! Now I can have the scents I like and still keep my house insured

That sounds good, I always worry about naked flames as I'm really clumsy!

Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
I heard a disturbing rumour yesterday from the shop assistant in Clintons that Yankee Candles are discontinuing the wax tarts! I can't see anything about it online so I hope it's not true.

Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
I think they're just changing the name - from 'Wax Tarts' to 'Wax Burners' or something along those lines !

I saw they were called wax melts on the US site but nothing about them being discontinued.

Re: Anybody into candles or wax tarts?
Yeah I think that's it - Wax Melts.
Saw Yankee Candles on QVC the other day and they were plugging the wax melts A LOT, so they can't be discontinuing them ??
