Just removed my last mani (see glitter thread) using tin foil method and my nails are stained horrible blue! I used nail envy as a base coat as usual and NEVER had this before!!! Gah!

Oh no, I really feel for you. This happened to me years ago with a blue polish. I think I used lemon juice to try and remove the staining a bit and then tried to gently buff the nail. Neutral

Good luck with trying to remove it.

My mum showed me how to get if off, she put some washing powder into a little bowl of warm water and made me soak it in there for a few minutes Smile worked a treat!

LOL. If you can't see it - its not there! About how I feel of the world when I take my glasses off Wink
I shall be curious about what its like underneath at the next unveiling! I've never had stains like that, although I have had the whole lot faintly mouldy green once or twice.

Mine are hideous underneath Laughing I do find if I use the tin foil method to remove polish and I've done a base coat of a dark colour it does stain my nails Sad

I tried steradent (denture cleaner), bleach, whitening toothpaste, brown sauce*, white spirit, all kinds, with no luck

*this was recommended to me when I'd asked for suggestions a couple of years ago and I think they were winding me up but yes, I did sit with brown sauce on my nails for half an hour :loser:

I tried whitening toothpaste on my nails and it didn't seem to make much difference on the yellowing. No I might have to try denture tablets next.

I found some Sally Hansen Insta-Brite Nail Whitener for £2.99 last time I went into TK Maxx so I'll give that a go and report back next time my nails are naked.

Did anything work?

I put a lovely blue on last week and now my nails are hideously stained blue. I've used 100% acetone, acetone free and normal remover all to no avail. They still look vile so am with the cover up option. How long does it take for the staining to go??

Oh no. The annoying thing is, is that it was a really nice colour and looked fab and now I can't wear it unless I want blue stained nails after. pale

The yellow is almost certainly because you don't let the sunlight get to your nails enough between changes of nail polish ladies Smile Try leaving your nails bare for a week!

My nails are yellow but it doesn't bother me as I always have them painted. Blue staining however does pee me off!!!
