Bridezilla Moments Empty Bridezilla Moments

Post  Sam Sat Jul 20, 2013 8:32 am

I sent my sister a link to the song I want to walk down the aisle to, and she went offline without listening to it and telling me how wonderful it was. Would it be reasonable to sack her as a bridesmaid?

Erm, nope. You'll pretty much be the only one interested in your own wedding details I'm afraid, I reckon there's always a hintette of envy from other female participants, related or not. My sister was a dubious bridesmaid - I think the whole family thought as she was older it should have been her to get married first. I had already chosen a dress with a blue bodice, she liked a peachy dress and her and Mum were in love with it. When I tentatively pointed out that it didn't really go too well with blue it was suggested that I change mine as she looked so amazing in the peachy thing!!!
On the day of the wedding I got ready on my own as she had her own hair and make up to do. I also had to go to collect my Mum from the hairdresser as no-one had noticed she hadn't come back. I struggled to button up the damn bodice thing but she arrived at mine with one of our friends who helped me.
That makes her sound so bad! She's not at all really - she's just used to being on her own and only having to worry about herself - not married, no children, has never lived with anyone either.
And flying across the Atlantic tonight having left several of her books and grundies behind to fit all my polish in her luggage. I guess I'm saying that weddings can be tricky situations and can prompt some unexpected behaviour from all concerned Rolling Eyes Wink Very Happy

Yup as an un married person in a relationship for 6 years where everyone around me is getting married. I really do not want to hear about other people's weddings and I'm just being polite for being polites sake. I actually don't want to hear it

Sorry.

Haha I only had two bridezilla moments. First was telling my sister her red hair had to go before the wedding as it clashed with her pink bridesmaid dress. Second was telling my husband to get rid of the best man's soul patch goatee haha. I do feel both of these were completely reasonable demands!

How are the plan going? I liked wedding planning but by the end I was so fed up and just wanted to go on my honeymoon haha. When is the wedding? xx

Well she's only 15 so she should be excited lol, she literally screamed on the phone when I told her we'd got engaged and then burst in to tears bless her. Although apparently my Mum's been so annoying with her excitement that my sister and Dad are both sick of hearing about the wedding lol.

I have already told my MoH she has to die her hair back brown before the wedding because she couldn't be more blonde than me. And I told OH that I didn't want his god daughter as a flower girl... But, erm, other than that I've been totally reasonable so far...

The wedding isn't until next August martinsgirl, so plenty of time for planning yet Smile I'm enjoying it at the moment, but I'd much rather be sending time fussing over little pretty details than sorting out the big things that I don't really care about. Like cars. I would quite happily get a taxi. Wedding cars are so flipping expensive, and I can't even see how I'd fit in most of them in a dress lol.

My brother is getting married in three weeks. He and the bride have both told me I can't have my pale pink ombre hair (I'm a bridesmaid) which I thought was a bit unreasonable but having read this thread it seems quite tame. That blonde thing Sam, WTF?! affraid lol!

I'm a bit concerned though as we haven't been told which shoes we're wearing yet, all I know is she wants us in heels (she's really tall and doesn't want to tower above us) and I need time to get used to them as I can't wear heels.

Before I got married, I decided no bridezilla, and I think I stuck to it. Most of the answers to questions were 'I don't care'

My only pre-requisite was if my mum got all stressed out and bothered then I was stopping the whole thing and not doing it. I couldn't cope with someone being like that.

The thought of planning a wedding fills me with horror, I hate it when my plans don't work out or if a spanner gets thrown in the works

I get SO stressed.

I'm so glad I have no intention of getting married lol!

I get what you mean, I really wasn't bothered about cars or anything like that (although one of my fave pics is us in the limo).

I used to go on a wedding forum though and I could not believe some of the bridezillas on there. One girl had a massive rant that her bridesmaid had got preganant. Think the bridesmaid had been trying for a baby for a long time and was going to have had the baby before the wedding, but the bride went mad and said she was so selfish!

Haha that's outrageous! There's someone in my wedding party who's been trying for a baby for a long time, and I think it would be completely perfect if there was a bump in all the pictures!
