Cars...........
This week I have spent mostly on my back
Now before you all get jealous, it was under this:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is my 1981 TR7. I love it to bits, I'm laughed at regularly whenever I drive it. It's been off the road for 3 years because we've just not had time to work on it, but Steve has been off this week so between us we've changed oil, replaced brakes and generally revived it a bit. It goes in for MOT in the morning......wish me luck
My other car is a rather boring renault clio.
So girls, what do you all drive?

Love your TR7! I always remember a yellow one being brought into junior school but I can't remember exactly why!

Re: Cars...........
I'm a VW beetle lover at heart - not the new ones though! I had one for years, even bought another one to keep it company!!!
Now the megaloads of children have touched down we have a black Hyundai i800 which with its blacked out windows looks like one of those 'private ambulances' that you see leaving the nursing homes early in the morning
I also have a stong desire to own a Capri.........
Good luck for the MOT Jane, I think the TR7's fab!!

Loola, I set out to buy a beetle a few years ago! I looked at a few but they were all a bit ropey, then I came home with this:

'Blossom' and I were together for about 5 years when the kids were small, she was great fun but when I started Uni and had to commit to being somewhere on time rather than at the roadside for an hour while I fixed it, she had to go.
I'd still love a Beetle, Steve would like a camper van actually but we've got so much on the go atm with my TR7 and he's got a TR6 he's slowly restoring so another addition isn't possible.
That said, Ellie can start driving lessons next year, she's already saving for her car of choice...... a Ford Anglia
Saw a Capri for sale this afternoon actually. I liked them back in the day.
Re: Cars...........
I have a little Suzuki Swift which I love. It's never given me a minutes trouble. Whereas the Peugeot 308 I had previously was a complete lemon. One electrical problem after another.

Re: Cars...........
Is she hoping the Ford Anglia will fly..?
Me and OH both have classic starter cars lol - a Corsa and a Clio. Both navy. My car's actually been off the road for a few years and is definitely far too rusty to ever be roadworthy again, but I'm having issues letting go...

Re: Cars...........
I seem to have acquired a mum wagon lol. Our Company cars are quite limited choice unfortunately so currently drive a ford focus estate (need a hefty boot for all my work stuff) next upgrade will be to a ... Vauxhall estate - yawn its mad as the BMW option was apparently cheaper but deemed bad for pr. Not that I like BMW, I still miss my Audi.

Re: Cars...........
My work car is a fiesta, but for those with company cars who get a choice they've all got audis.
Honestly you'd think we were an Audi show room the amount parked in our car park. Mostly a3's all in black.
Although the office ponce just got a merc instead of an Audi and now thinks he's cool. However I know it's the basic tiny engine and is bog standard basic inside. Idiot!!! Lol

Re: Cars...........
I can't drive, but OH has an Egyptian blue Peugeot 308. Personally I would have liked him to get a BMW Z3 but it's not very practical for when we go a bit over the top at the garden centre or when we're taking things to the tip!!

Ha ha there is an element of that at my work, spot the personal car lol. You can choose company car or car allowance, the allowance is good for full time, get something very nice but part time is a bit naff.
I remember when dad used to bring a massive list home he could pick from- jealous!

glad it passed Jane!
I've got a mini cooper (one of the bmw builds but he's 10 years old) in racing green with a white top. He is called Marvin
I would love to try one of the old 60's Jags, the sporty looking ones!

Re: Cars...........
Jane, the TR7 is lovely I've only ever had little first car types (punto, KA, clio kind of thing) - I don't need anything big, and I can't be trusted with anything powerful so I go for small, cheap and reliable. I'd love a classic though - triumph spitfire or mg midget would be fabulous... And when I'm really feeling detached from reality, I'd love a dodge charger

Re: Cars...........
Rainbow, you dont see many Micra Convertibles at all so that sounds fab! I had a Micra when I was about 19, fab little car
I tend to stick to small, slow cars and the 7 doesn't get to go that fast (Painfully aware that crashing that will be the end of me as well as it so I take it slowly lol). I have driven our Astra on occasion, thats the 1.9 Cdti SRi and its bloody fast. I've scared myself in it a few times
I'd like a Dodge Charger myself, something big and bullying haha
