Polish hunting in Stoke-on-Trent

Post  Babafette on Sun Aug 04, 2013 9:47 pm

My Mum and aunt are off to visit relatives in Stoke-on-Trent (Hanley) in a couple of weeks time. Are there any must-visit polish shops I should send them to on their travels please ladies? (I seem to recall you are based in Stoke-on-Trent Jane?)

Any advice appreciated. Thanks very much. Very Happy

Polish in Stoke? Ha!!

There is a Sallys hidden away on an industrial estate but its legendarily shit and VERY expensive. TK Maxx in Hanley very occasionally has polishes but tbh it's been a while since they have had anything any good in. Other than that the Boots in Hanley is really big and stocks quite a few brands, there's also a big Superdrug in the shopping centre. We do have TWO Poundlands in Hanley so they may drop on OPI (not been in to check myself)

You'd be better sending them to Emma Bridgewater for spotty mugs tbh. Embarassed

Thanks Jane, thought I'd ask just in case.

I'd like an Emma Bridgewater heart mug but I fear the pair of them would get hopelessly lost trying to find the factory outlet shop......... Laughing

No  its dead easy to find, barely a five minute walk out of Hanley. I'll show you a map tomorrow when I'm not on my phone x

Here you go Baba:

Walking route guide from the middle of Hanley to Emma Bridgewater. It's well worth a visit, the cafe there is lovely and the factory shop very often has bargains in. Not to mention there is a lovely little cafe inside as well.

opposite ends hehe.
Would love to leave but never seems to happen. Stoke does get a bad press though, yes its a poorer area but the folk around here tend to be lovely.
