Re: What's On Your Mind?
Well, I'm back after a week and a half in Wales with virtually no internet! Got part way through reading the 80-odd "posts since last visit" on here and my computer decided it needed to restart (grrr - bloody windows updates) - forum now thinks I've read everything, so I have no idea what's been going on. So, what have I missed??!
Back at work today - no idea what's going on here either At least I came back to the lovelies I ordered from magpies just before I left - can't wait to try the lillypad - it looks AMAZING!!

Re: What's On Your Mind?
which lily's did you get?
I'm feeling narky today, didn't sleep well. No reason for it. I think i might need a nap at lunchtime.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Just got rainbows in space (the black holo) - in the bottle, it makes the hits and jade holos I ordered at the same time look like nothing special. I know they are pretty special, so the lillypad should be mindblowing
I could really use a nap - I'm not a morning person at the best of times, and after a week and a half of lie-ins I'll be dead on my feet by home time...

oooh that looks sparkly!
I do love a good nap, I wish I lived in a siesta country.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I'm returning to work for a 5:30-9 shift after 3 weeks off. I'm very nervous!
Re: What's On Your Mind?
good luck Geordie!
I'm bored. I want to play with striping tape and cellotape and hole punch stickers but waiting for the base coat to dry oh and work is quiet. I have work admin/housekeeping to do, which I will after I have striped my nails.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
My hamster seems to have pulled through really thought he would die at the weekend, he spent a full day lying on his side shaking but now seems back to his normal self!
Other than that my mind is mostly occupied by the fact that I am moving house in 54days and haven't packed a single thing...

Good luck with moving house. We sold our house last week and now can’t find anything to move too. The one I liked went on the market on Friday and had 2 offers on it by Monday so thats not going to happen.

shit thats awful - hope its not him. But its sad who ever it is
someone posted a notice on FB of have you seen this guy - it was the first guy I ever snogged properly as well. He turned up a week later, alive and well. Never heard where he went, I suspect drink or drugs - what did he do about his job? (First guy I shagged went funny a few years later due to drug abuse and went missing for a bit)
Re: What's On Your Mind?
My Dad's losing his marbles. I've been in denial for a good long while but can't pretend any more. I feel godawful as I've absolutely no idea what to do. He's a stubbormn & independant git! Lives alone in a big house as good few hours away from me, still drives, has no intention of doing anything different. Oh & his legs re giving in so if he doesn't wanter off and get lost, or elave the front door open & get burgled or sorse, he could easily take a tuble down the stairs. Joy.
I can't decide if the fact that I feel really woozy and unwell is something actual (bug or something) or just a sustained low grade panic attack

Oh HanSpan, that's an awful lot to deal with. It's unsettling having to deal with parents getting older, I always sort of felt mine were invincible and would be around forever if that makes sense. Are you an only child?

That's awful Hanspan My nanna's mind is almost completely gone and it's so hard.
Re: What's On Your Mind?
Yes only child, Mum died about 20 years ago. She was an only child. Dad had one brother who has been dead about 5 years. So it really is just me. I do have distant cousins but we've never been all that close and there's absolutely no-one physically close to him. Plus he's independant and proud so if I told the family who might go see him & he found out I'd said he't be extremely pissed with me.
I went down to see him Wed and stayed over and tried to sort out power of attourney with him. We talked abuot it a while ago and I wish I'd done it earlier as its incredibly confusing. He's still OK to make decisions about it at the moment, but his failing memory and struggling to hang onto the thread of things means it just frustrated the hell out of him & made him more depressed and miserable. I'm not sure if we'll ever get it sorted now.
Doesn't help that he refuses to take most medication other than paracetamol. He's been offered things for nerve pain and refused and even now is only willing to 'think' about patches despite having got the the stage on Sunday taht he couldn't get out of the chair and had to slide to the floor & crawl over the living room and pull himself up on another chair. He's also been offered antidepressants and he's clearly depressed but won't take those either.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
If you can get the POA sorted while he can still agree to it. My mum and uncle ended up having to apply to be guardians for my gran because the doctors declared her incompetent but it took about a year to get it through the courts and registered.HanSpan wrote:Yes only child, Mum died about 20 years ago. It is a horrible thing to go through with relatives and there are no easy options unfortunately
