Re: What's On Your Mind?
can you and your BF get somewhere together Laura? something cheap or have a look into being one of those live in care takers to blocks of flats. I had 2 mates do that, they got lovely flats and just had to be on call for dramas in the building and keep the grounds kept etc. Wasn't a bad deal, they were in the pub most of the time.
Seriously not impressed with my new boss. I'd just got my head around progressing in the company but he's completely changed my mind. 6 months, and I'm out. 6 months to plan operation dolphin - the escape plan to a more sailoresq career

We are both skint, there's no way either of us could afford it I have no options. If my dad had a 2 bedroom place I'd have been there years ago. I just have to put up with it :/

Re: What's On Your Mind?
dunno I'd like to get my bonus next spring, sell everything I own and go off and take a year off to do deliveries and get my yachtmaster. This may be a pipe dream but you have to have goals. If I won the lottery I'd buy into a sailing school.. but I've not won the lottery. The sailing just took on a life of its own in the last year.. I would never have dreamed of doing the fastnet or dinghy sailing but somehow it all happened, and looking at being part of an amateur yacht race team as well as doing my YM theory this winter - so its hazy plans but am determined that sailing is going to be in my future more than it is nowSam wrote:More sailor-esque ninja? What are you planning?
Re: What's On Your Mind?
I did dinghy sailing as a kid and absolutely loved it. I did talk about OH & I going for a weekend coarse or something but we never got round to it.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Sounds great ninja I was going to say you can speak to my OH if you wanted to ask anything, but he's an officer of the watch and drives massive ships, so he might not be any help!
Re: What's On Your Mind?
going fast with just the wind is soooo much more impressive! I went on a 2 hander with one of the experienced racers the other week and omg was it fast and bloody brillient! I can't do that on my own though, am a crap scaredy cat dinghy sailor!HanSpan wrote:I did dinghy sailing as a kid and absolutely loved it. Re: What's On Your Mind?
Sailing is def very addictive almost as much as nail polish for me good luck with the career I did my dinghy instructors course this year there are lots of interesting places you can teach with it,if I didn't have a family I would look at doing that somewhere warm!

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Please we have plenty of takeaways in East Grinstead, the high street is full of them, but they won't deliver. There's one burger/pizza/chips place that delivers and that's OK, but the other two are Indian and I hate Indian food.Geordie Nails wrote:That must be gutting! Re: What's On Your Mind?
I really liked Prometheus - not sure why it got stick, I think too many people compared it to Alien but as a film in its own right it was really good!
I had a dirty dream about an ex, which has disturbed me. Not a recent ex, a guy from when I was 18-20. Why would I have a dirty dream about him? (and he was no where near as good in real life as he was in my dream ) not amused at what my sub conscious is playing at.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I long ago stopped worrying about who is in my dreams. If I tell people what I dream they look at me like I'm barmy - I have very elaborate and bizzare dreams. Still one of the most disturbing was being married to Harry Enfield - euch!

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I don't understand why people didn't like Prometheus either, can only assume they didn't understand what it was supposed to be. Like you said, they thought it was going to be just like the Alien films.ninjablossom wrote:I really liked Prometheus - not sure why it got stick, I think too many people compared it to Alien but as a film in its own right it was really good!

Dreams are weird aren't they? I sometimes dream about people I haven't seen for donkey's years, people who haven't even crossed my mind for donkey's years. Sounds like yours was a good 'un though, don't knock it
