And I am so not reading that poem, tear streaked mascara in my eyes makes them red in the morning x

Re: What's On Your Mind?
So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law martinsgirl, I hope the funeral went OK.
I hope you get some good news about your beloved cat kissmenow. Don't give up hope.

This has got to be the funniest thing I've read in a long time, I'm so childish I'm literally guffawing out loud.LoolaBeanbag wrote:I'm so glad you're all safe Sue. I had a blowie once and fortunately the major devastation was in my pants, it is a shit scary thing to happen.

Oh god not the Rainbow Bridge. I can't deal with that shit, literally makes me sob like a baby.
I'm so sorry to hear about you cat Kissme trust me after the year I've had I know what you're going through. 15 is a great age for a cat. I hope they can find out what's wrong with her at the clinic and that it's treatable. Sending hugs x

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I know what you mean about the 'what if'....i spent well over £1,000 trying to find out what was wrong with one of my cats a couple of years ago, i just couldnt let him go without knowing that i had done all i could.kissmenow9 wrote: My head says we should just let her go now, but I just know in my heart I couldn't deal with the 'what if...' of not knowing what exactly it is
But then when his brother developed similar symptons a year or so later i had to be sensible as i couldnt afford to go through all that again. I'm pretty sure it was the same thing (Lymphoma) and i couldnt put him through what i'd put his brother through, so i just kept him as comfortable as possible until it was time to let him go
Hope you find out whats wrong with your cat so you can make the right decision

Re: What's On Your Mind?
So sorry Kissme. It's never an easy position to be in and it's a decision we all struggle with. Like Loola says though, if it comes to that, having her put down really is an act of ultimate kindness. I've had human relatives I've wished we could do the same for, too (especially my aunt, who died a slow and painful death aged 55 from alzheimers).

Thinking of you, kissmenow. It's hard when our pets get ill. All you can do is what you feel to be right, with guidance from the vets.

My husband decided to fix the leak in the toilet....so now the water has been turned off and we're getting a professional in on an emergency rate tomorrow no new pretties for a while (unless it's Poundland as that doesn't count).

My bus broke down today, it was either the tyre or front lifting system that blew up. It was like a bomb went off!!!!SueD wrote:Glad to be home, though could have done without a tyre blowing whilst we were in the outside lane of the M6

OH will no doubt be along soon to refute the idea that we ever have to get a man in to do things he planned to;)

Re: What's On Your Mind?
urg does someone have to clean it out?
i'm quite fucked off. Someone booked an all day meeting tomorrow about a project that I'm at the stage of 'less talk, give me the proper bloody requirements and let me get on' - only to hear they have a meeting with their boss in the morning. So expecting me to faff about in the office for half a day. Like I have nothing better to do.
So I have reduced the meeting to 2 hours in the arvo and they can stick their faffy vague meetings. Its odd, I really like this person as a mate outside of work, but they do my nut in work - its all big wordy business words and vague abstract concept bollocks - that all means jack shit really. The difference is quite odd.

I'm afraid the responsibility fell to OH as I thought I would puke - nice birthday present for him.ninjablossom wrote:urg :(does someone have to clean it out?
Good job we saw it this morning though as if we hadn't been here for a few days I'm not sure what state it would have been in by the time we found it.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Well, she's still with us... she's at this specialist diagnostic centre about forty miles away. They did an MRI today which showed a mass in her lung - bad but then did a CT scan which showed just fluid in her lungs - better news, but not anywhere near good. If it's a mass, then she's better off being put down. If it's fluid (and therefore pneumonia) then they will almost definitely be able to treat it with antiobiotics and she has a much better chance of recovery. They took samples whilst they were doing the CT so we'll find out tomorrow midday whether it's cancer/a tumour and she needs to be put down or if it's pneumonia and she might pull through. Even if it is pneumonia and she pulls through with treatment, it could flare up again when the cold weather comes along in two months time and we almost certainly wouldn't be able to afford to or want to put her through treatment again. Especially if this is what it takes to get it diagnosed.
The vet seems to think it's pneumonia, I think it is as well but my parents are sure it's not and we're going to lose her.
I came home from work early tonight because I feel so worn out, I need some time where I'm not working, sleeping or sitting and crying about what new news I've been told so I'm having a mass clean and am planning a bracelet making session with a cuppa in about half an hour when I've found the thing that I need to find.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I asked my Dad this (if we could go over there before they did it to be with her) and he said that they close their doors at 5pm and both he and my mum can't get off work. He also said he didn't think it would do anything but upset me :/ If I could drive I'd go over by myself tbh.ninjablossom wrote:They wouldn't put her down without you would they??

Hoping for good news too x
I'm planning on doing an ice lolly manicure for the end of Summer. I don't dare Google it in case someone's already done it.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I just had a rather unpleasant experience in the shower (aside from the usual trauma of seeing my naked, pasty white bod!). A spider decided to join me in the shower cubicle!
I had to stop the shower and evict it out of the window.
