Re: What's On Your Mind?
That's absolutely pathetic, how dare they come into your street and put everyone out like that?!
I'm watching the new Sarah Millican programme and it's not very good gutted because I love Sarah Millican.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
When I was a kid, we went camping and took my hamsters - the cage had to stay in the car at night so they didn't keep us awake. They escaped from the cage. My dad had to take the car apart to find them
Hope you find yours Laura.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
one of my brothers gerbils escaped as a kid. The cat tried to catch it and the chase went down the road, my friends mother stood at the end of her drive in her bra and petty coat chucking paper water at the cat to stop it, with the street watching. (Can't imagine that happening these days, everyone would ignore the shouting)
All was well, my brother managed to get the gerbil safely. So if you see the cats looking suspect, they know where the hamster is. Watch the cats...find the hamster

Re: What's On Your Mind?
My sister's hamster escaped once, it was gone for about three days so we thought that was it. Then she woke up at 5am and found it running across her bedroom floor. Poor thing drank most of her water bottle then passed out lol.
Best bit was the hamster had escaped out of her ball downstairs and managed to find her way back upstairs to her room haha.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
awww fuck. I've just sent an email that will get me in to trouble and if it doesn't, I question why - cuz If I got that, I'd secretly admire the person but also know you had to bollock them. But my company has no guts, they are all scared. Of what I don't know.
And I've just essentially offered to sell my soul to another team (whose is the subject of much debate about if the director is devil like or not) and on top of that have just told my old boss how much I dislike my current role.
If I'm going to cause waves, I may as well make them big ones ey... and if it does go wrong it will force me to look at another company and stop being so fussy.

Thinking that yet another printer has bitten the dust mid-printing of the teenagers homework
I think schools should sub parents on the cost of the bloody things the amount of money we seem to spend on ink and replacing them. Despite the fact that we've always had either HP or Epson, they never seem to last very long

Re: What's On Your Mind?
have my weekly call with my boss tomorrow but he doesn't say alot. And the person I aimed the email at hasn't replied. I have the feeling I can speak my mind and push and push but people will rather ignore me than kick off at me - because that means acknowledging the issues.HanSpan wrote:I've ony just seen this. Never thought of the extra costs for schooling Sue... do they not handwrite stuff anymore or could they use the school printers?, do the work at home and stick on a memory stick to print out there? Thats what I did last time was at college.
I saw my nieces home work and it was this fancy scrap like book that they then write out their homework on A4 cut it out and stick it in. What happened to handouts and jotter books?
Hope you feel better Bab's

I have an interview on Wednesday for a job that is well within my capabilities, but is a pain to get to and I can't be bothered.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
A LOT of their homework is done on the PC They used to have a points system for a certain allowance of printing in school but I think that's been abolished now, they can print off stuff now and again but not on a regular basis. My eldest who's just started 6th form seems to print out pages and pages of essays!

Re: What's On Your Mind?
But any salary would have a direct effect on your polish collection Laura..... Is it just the journey or do you not like the sound of the job?Laura wrote:I have an interview on Wednesday for a job that is well within my capabilities, but is a pain to get to and I can't be bothered.
I fully understand the reluctance to tackle a shite journey every day though, I had a 40 minute drive for one job and it just wasn't worth it. If it had been a 40 minute drive to get to work as a polish tester I think I could have sucked it up.....
