But any salary would have a direct effect on your polish collection Laura..... Is it just the journey or do you not like the sound of the job?
I fully understand the reluctance to tackle a shite journey every day though, I had a 40 minute drive for one job and it just wasn't worth it. If it had been a 40 minute drive to get to work as a polish tester I think I could have sucked it up.....Laughing
The job is fine, I know I could do it, it's the journey. It's out of town and I don't drive. I have no one to give me a lift and while there is a bus that goes in that general direction, I don't know the area and the bus only runs once every two and a half hours or something fucking ridiculous like that.

I'm very tempted to cancel the interview; I know it's a bad idea in these times but I really think that this job would cause me more trouble than it's worth.

I'm sure the bus must be more frequent than that, even where my parents live it's every two hours :p what is the job?

I am applying for a 10-hour job at the charity I volunteer for Very Happy It'd be on top of my zero-hour market research and it would guarantee I'd always get more than the equivalent of jobseekers allowance every week!

Good luck with the jobs ladies. Very Happy

Once again I'm currently buried under a sea of paperwork trying to locate various tax deduction certificates in order to complete my bloody tax return. Mad Everything is such a mess - rather like my mind. Neutral

Would the wage be enough that you could taxi it until you get an easier to get to job?

No, it's only part time and it would cost a fortune pale plus the taxi services here are ALWAYS so late. I've weighed it all up and I don't really have any options, it just doesn't seem worth doing at all. I don't really want to have to cancel it but it really would be a waste of my and their time...

Gah Sad

Cancelled the interview, it's just not worth it. I'm working tomorrow and Friday anyway and I have a few other jobs to apply for.

This makes me feel slightlybetter about ordering pizza, eating a whole bar of galaxy and the glass of wine on a school night... It had been that kind of a day. Junk food and sparklying things always makes things better Smile

Good luck!!!

I just handed in my application form and I was 25 minutes late because I hadn't realised the deadline was noon and not just Wednesday in general! Luckily the manager knows me from my volunteering and she accepted the application which is very kind and lucky.

Thanks guys,

It went well I think, the lady was lovely even though I was terrified of her before! (The job is a long-standing department store in town so I knew of her before) she said I was well dressed hehe Very Happy I think I had a slight advantage in that the company I used to work for that went under used to be situated across the road from where she runs her removal service and she knew all about what happened. And yes I admit I played on it a bit lol!

Just gotta drop a form in for her tomorrow and hopefully I'll hear about it in a couple of weeks, as she's off on holiday this weekend.

Ooh, I've just spotted that Nelly Polish is using some of my swatches on her Etsy store. I'm all proud and shizzle.

Laura, fingers crossed for you Smile Although why on earth were you awake at 1am the night before an interview? I don't think I could stay up that late if I tried. Not sure when I got so old...
