31 Day Challenge
As many of you may have guessed, I am doing the 31 day challenge, in the days of August.
I have blogged about my efforts every day, but today is water marbling, and if you don't mind it looks feckin ace!

I would really quite like that third nail down look. It's a great effort! The results really are awesome
I haven't even tried it, scares me too much
having just got some dotting tools, that's my thing currently. doting anything that doesn't move!

Looks fab. Becca if you're nervous then try dry water marbling first. Set your bowl up with polishes in but instead of putting your finger in put a plastic baggy in. Much less mess.

The polishes never seem to spread. Have tried different water temps, different types of polishes, it just won't work!
Sometimes the polish sinks to the bottom!

No7 works for me, and the models own. I wonder if it is because our water has alot of lime in it.

I think if it drops to the bottom you're holding the brush too far away from the water - it needs to be just next to it, like putting cream on a hot chocolate

Lovely results, that bottom nail is just gorgeous! I remember doing this as a teen but haven't done it since. I think I need to give it another go soon

AFAIK we don't have much lime in our water and it works fine here. I've also tried it with bottled water to compare. Tesco value bottled water is something like 15p for a 2L bottle and it's pretty much just filtered tap water I think and that works well at room temp.
I think it very much depends on the type of polish though. Some just don't spread, some dry too quickly, some spread too slowly etc.
The runny slow drying polishes (ie the ones we all curse because they smudge so easily even half an hour later) seem to work best. No 7 is very good for it. Some nails inc work well too but I don't know how many people would be comfortable 'wasting' a £10 polish to play around.

Hon that looks stunning! I normally avoid pink like the plague but I love that so much. I wonder if it would look as good in blood red and slver (considers ordering stamping plates - would OH want to kill me? I get on at him for buying and hoarding....but these are small things
)
