Retiring my Stash Empty Retiring my Stash

Post  Sally Magpie Wed Jan 09, 2013 9:31 pm

The sad realisation has come that I can't do everything.

I can't work full time, I can't have Sally Magpies, I can't blog and I can't have over 500 nail polishes sitting waiting to be used that won't ever be touched.

Working and Magpies has to stay. I am going to blog less frequently, but try to keep that going slowly. So, I am going to have to thin my stash. I can't bear to part with them properly, so I think I am going to have to put them into storage. Initial idea was the Loft, but I am worried it will get too hot and ruin them, so my second thought is in a helmer in the wardrobe. ( stealing valuable shoe space)

It won't be long until I need racking to keep the shop stock on - eek

Oh no Sal! This worries me because you opened your shop because you got fed up of paying over the odds and waiting for ages for good polishes. And now you don't even have the time to use any of them?! That makes me sad. Sad

Hopefully in time when there is less set up time in relation to magpies you'll have more time to yourself. And let's face it, you'll be able to give up work soon enough!!

That is the plan....

I wonder if a destashing is required anyway. Some of my pretties are unloved, and they might be happier in a new home?

Then I could justify buying the 16 A-englands I am lemming.

Maybe a destash on your shop (you could do a special offer or sale on them?) or a little thinning out would help?

That's a great idea, especially if you can bear to part with any of your stash. Smile

I am going to try and remove 100 polishes and do them at £1 each. I don't really do big brands, but I hope that at least some of them will go. I will gladly give the yellow ones to anyone who will have them, they are awful.
