Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I have never tried one, I will be doing my first in April. I will let you know in May if I was successful or not.
I have boots points but I am guessing that doesn't count as I am not physically using money, same with swapping.

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
To be honest I've never seriously tried to do a no buy. However, I have worked out I've spent nearly £100 on polish this month now so I really do need to stop for a while.
I buy to make myself happy but the high just doesn't last very long.

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I literally can't do it. I tried in January then saw Sally Hansen polishes in the poundshop and great deals on Nails Inc and elf in TK Maxx and then blog sales were amazing in January with people trying to make room for their Christmas polishes PLUS the normal January sales! I ended up buying around 150 polishes during my no buy......
Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I've been on an indefinite no-buy since losing my job, I've made it to a month so far!
I even managed to resist a Cirque polish that I wanted oh-so badly.

This totally. I'm waiting on news from work this month and its put everything in limbo. My no buy failed till May failed as I was fed up and I went on a spree that cheered me up for a few days. The no buy never lasts long.
I do actually enjoy using the polishes I have and am content with this but then I see a blog, or a post and decide I 'need' that polish. I'm trying to reign myself in now instead of no buys. No buys just equal bigger splurges.
Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I've never tried one, but as I can't diet (and Jeez I need to) I guess my self control would let me down badly on a no buy too
I may try replacing a chocolate fix with a new bottle of polish, but this could bankrupt me within a week

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I'm fairly successful - been on a no buy since February until I finish uni in May (and actually, it'll probably be a little beyond that, until I get a job) and so far, no purchases have been made!
Sanity wise it's not too good though. And now I have a wishlist as long as my arm.

No
However I cut back on other things really, so that I can fund my nail polish habit, and I never really go out or buy clothes anymore. The second I think I might not buy anything for a while loads of amazing new collections come out.

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
No I don't really splurge on anything else other than polish, go to the stage now though we're past few months iv spen a lot on holos! They are never cheap and I have the compulsion to have full collections. Only collection I haven't thought I needed them all was hologlam and thankgod as they are £8.95 each!
Gonna be a long April but hopefully I can do it! X

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I haven't tried one as I'm on a budget each month anyway, once that's gone -tough! I have however learnt not to get quite so sucked in by amazing swatch photos on blogs. In reality ,a lot of polishes just don't look that amazing once they're on my small-ish nails and not enlarged on a PC screen !

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
I had a no buy and to be honest I was rubbish at it. Although it did slow me down somewhat, but it just left me feeling incredibly guilty for anything I purchased.
When I ordered the Catrice/Essence for the shop I wanted one of everything for me, that was a bad day.

Yes in the white city one, not Stratford. I've got loads of MO polishes but I kinda want the neon ones. But I'll see.

Re: Are you successful on no buys?
Yes I am currently on a no buy. I haven't bought any polish or make up since December last year so this is my third month.
I do have 300 polishes so I am not suffering from lack of different colours but I am lusting after the liquid sands.
I had to as it was that or overdraft each month but come April when hopefully my husband starts drawing a proper wage I can buy again.
Plus I am going to Fueterventura with my mum in 4 weeks time so all my extra money has gone on that. I will buy polishes when I am away if I can.
I also managed either two or three months in 2011 before we went to Florida and I then bought 60 polishes and loads of make up.
Also on the lust list is W7 suede effect
