I wanna learn stamping
I've tried so many times but I'm just useless at it, I can't line it up straight and the pattern doesn't pick up properly has anyone got any pointers??

Re: I wanna learn stamping
I don't really stamp a lot so I can't personally help (sorry!) but there is a fab app called snap guide which is kind if like pinterest but it gives you step by step instructions on how to do stuff (pictures and words not videos) and I've seen a couple of stamping guides on there if you search 'nail stamping'
I hope it helps or someone else can help you more!

Re: I wanna learn stamping
mines improved since I read that you have to scrape towards the plate logo - not sure how this makes a difference but it does, I can always pick up an image now with no problem. Getting it on the nail cleanly I'm still working on but I'm finding if I roll the nail rather than the stamper the image goes on better most of the time, especially if its a whole nail image. Rolling the stamper tends to cut off the top part of the nail.
And if I think about what I'm doing too much, its a disaster. Just a very quick scrape, pick up image and stamp. If I start getting perfectionist (i.e with single images rather than the whole nail, if I think its off centre I might try again) the whole manicure goes to pot and most of the time once the top coat is on, it never looks as bad as I think!

I just had another go and it's horrific
I want so much to be able to do this as it looks so good! It's making me really angry! I wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

Re: I wanna learn stamping
I didn't know that about the stamping plate either! Good tip - I will have to try that.
I always put on top coat before stamping so if it goes wrong you can very gently wipe off the stamp (with cotton bud dipped in remover etc) without taking off your varnish. Then another top coat after.
Also, you need to work very quickly, some polish works better than others - Barry M metallics are almost infallible I find...
Some polish needs to be cleaned from the plate between each stamp. Trial and error which ones, as some you don't need to clean the plate until you have finished. If I'm having trouble, I try that and it often makes a difference. Some plates are rubbish too - I have some I can NEVER get a good image from.
Good luck!

Re: I wanna learn stamping
Some of my recent stamping.
It isnt perfect but it looks good from a distance.
I use bundle monster or cheeky plates and with a normal konad stamper and scraper
I also dont tend to use special stamping polish except for white
this is using
konad special white stamping polish
Barry M gelly satsumas

Black MUA polish from Superdrug £1 and it works brilliantly for stamping

They look great to me too! I don't think many people's nails look perfect close up anyway, mine definitely look better from a distance, but that's how they're mostly seen so... lol xx

My tips....
1, get drunk
2, have plently of cotton buds handy
3, choose random design from numerous stamping plates
4, work quickly but take your time
5, take pic and show the world your masterpiece
works for me

RainbowNails, how does the MUA Black remove? At the moment I use Konad Black and although it looks great on, it's an utter b@*!@xd when cleaning up!

Re: I wanna learn stamping
I use pure acetone which I get in a small bottle from Boots and a brush or cosmetic cotton bud to clear up all my cuticles.
It is proper polish so when I used it the other day in a tape manicure it just removed normally.
I do have konad black as well that I got in Florida so next time I stamp in black I will use both to see if I can tell the difference

LOL. I've done that. There's still the extremely sloppy and squiffy evidence on my facebook!
