How do I thank Posters?

I can't find the 'thanks' button or icon to thank useful posters. Can anyone help here?
I've just worked out that the + and - on the right hand side of each entry is to vote negative or positive for each post (Hanspan you have a new odd thanks on a random post as I was trying it out!).
Thanks for my negatives coming backatcha!!

sometimes on my ipad I see a merci button, not always but sometimes. But never on my laptop

I may be wrong, but from what I can work out I think the 'merci' button only shows when the messages are in response to a thread you actually posted yourself.

If this is the case, you should see the 'merci' button on ninjajane's reply and my reply Loola.

Thanks Ninja, I've seen the button once or twice but I think it takes long holidays abroad (Jeez I'd like to joint it....). Am opting for the green/positive vote (+) instead until it comes back!!
I think using this may in some tiny way help keep our numbers up and keep the forum interactive - everyone likes to know that their info is appreciated and well received?

I have no idea, I thought it was the little + thing, but I can't see anything that says "merci" on my laptop.

So only the thread starter can thank or merci other people then?!!

Loola, i think the + and - on the right hand side are the way to thank people.
You had 18 'thanks', i just clicked the + on one of your posts on this topic and you now have 19 'thanks'

And the 'Merci' seems to only be there for threads you have started but you can only click on it once

oops I read this and clicked on the - (monkey see/read, monkey do) and think I downvoted this post by mistake.
