Sending nail polish to the USA
Has anyone found a way of sending polish to the USA as I have a few I want to send to someone but don't want the royal mail to destroy the package

Re: Sending nail polish to the USA
I'm having a real problem with this too DHL and FedEx don't specifically mention it as a restricted item on their website- but when I rang to check they said it was definitely restricted and the package would be destroyed. Same thing with parcel force. I wonder if it's some sort of stupid government rule? If so- shall we all start a petition?NeonSparklyNails wrote:Has anyone found a way of sending polish to the USA as I have a few I want to send to someone but don't want the royal mail to destroy the package
There must be some sort of hazardous shipping though because A England is still shipping to her distributors in the US- but I haven't found it yet!

I think anything by plane isn't allowed, and that that's an international ban not just the UK (just the UK have really clamped down on it). I could be wrong though!

So surface mail is an option?Sam wrote:I think anything by plane isn't allowed, and that that's an international ban not just the UK (just the UK have really clamped down on it). I could be wrong though!
It is just crazy, I feel they have ganged up on us

I've asked about this in the post office before and they said no... but perfectly possible that they didn't know the actual answer! Can anyone find any online documentation? I'm getting a blankgeekybat wrote:

I emailed the royal mail about surface mail- nope, it's prohibited. I've written back and asked if there's a specific "hazardous substances" service, but I'm not holding my breath...

I emailed the royal mail about the surface mail this morning and haven't heard back yet. It doesn't make sense for them to say no though as I thought it was about it going by plane? I'm confused, lol

Re: Sending nail polish to the USA
so while I was looking for a courier to send it I came across P4D and in their list it only stated polish remover so I bought it through them and when I printed the label off realised it was for FedEx who won't allow it, but as I had already paid I thought I would take a chance and send it and it appears to be ok, the tracking is saying that it is out for delivery
I don't think I would take a chance again though as it cost £22.00 to send and I probably spent about £25 on the items inside the package, so I have been constantly checking the tracking (very stressful lol)
However I do think P4D should have updated their list as they don't state you can't send it but the couriers they use do and I didn't realise it was FedEx until I printed the label as it just said something like Priority or Express when I bought it.

Re: Sending nail polish to the USA
Further updates on this- the royal mail have emailed back to say that they don't do a specific 'hazardous items' shipping service as they don't have the correct license (?!) and they can't recommend any other carriers that do offer it- so back to google!
