Models Own Mirrorball.
Am I the only one slightly underwhelmed by these? I bought the green, pink and blue at Boots on 3for2, but not sure I love them..

Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
They do smell very strong. I bought the No7 limited edition glitters a few months ago and they pong the same. I do like them, but I really lusted after them on the Models Own website, so not sure if I built them up loads in my head so they'd never live up to what I expected maybe.

Literally just put Mirrorball on! I got all 5 colours and did one colour on each finger cos I couldn't choose I like the strong smelling polishes lol.
They look nice but are very gloopy, I wanted them to be more dense

I wanted to love them all but face to face I wasn't in lust with them all. I bought 3 from Boots on offer and left the rest, I only got 3 of the wonderland ones as well. The photos on the website seem to be a lot better than real life. Glad I saw them in person or I would have been disappointed.

Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
I've layered them too thick and they're not drying, even with a coat of Seche Vite :/

Maybe the cold water trick would help

I find a lot of glitters like that so annoying!

Yup I raced to buy them also as I'm a bit meh about them. I've still got some of the collection in my untrieds box...
Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
Well it managed to stay on overnight and has now dried I actually think it looks really nice. I'm not too fond of the green and gold ones, but the blue, purple and pink ones are very nice.
I've had lots of compliments about them at work today

I like glitter, but I am far more impressed with the ninja polish 'Ascencion' that I got recently. Its a dupe of Deborah Lippman 'Stairway to Heaven' and its adorable.
Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
OMG this polish is an utter bastard to get off. Not even funny. I'm gonna be here all night.

Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
Finally got round to trying the blue - got it on over rimmel midnight blue and it looks nice, just disappointed at the number of coats I needed to use to make it sparkly enough, and the length of time it took to dry (the cold water trick did help though!)
I'm seriously considering buying some glitter off ebay to add to it - has anyone ever tried doing this? Can anyone recommend a supplier?

Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
I bought the green one the other day - very disappointed I thought the glitter would be a lot more dense. Oh well, at least the bottle's pretty!
mmmmchocolate, i've tried making glitter polishes by adding glitters to topcoats, but the colour bleeds off a lot of glitters, so you end up with silver glitter and coloured polish! I'm sure if you google it you'll be able to find out which glitters don't bleed

Re: Models Own Mirrorball.
Thanks Sam. I've noticed a lot of the specialist nail glitters promise not to bleed Might wait until I have an empty topcoat bottle so I can mess with a bit of the mirror ball rather than risk ruining the whole bottle
