Nerd Lacquer

So seems to be a bit of drama in the indie polish world today. The lady who created the above polish disappeared off the face of the earth earlier this year and there were loads of theories about what happened to her, but now she's back!

Her polishes look fab so will see when she opens her shop again. Anyone have any of her polishes?

I never knew that the polish world was like a soap!

From what I read her mum had cancer.

I don't have one, and I am trying not to love them because I imagine getting them will end up like a bunfight.

Still seems strange to vanish for such a long time, but I guess she needed to do what she needed to do! And I'm desperatly sorry about her mum. That so sad.

I've seen her polishes on blogs and always quite liked them. I'll see how her return pans out I think.

Well apparently her new shop opens today!!! No going to buy anything as it will be mental but I'd like to see what she has.

Had a look. Her shop sold out within 2/3 mins! None of the colours took my fancy even if I had got there in time. Others are saying international postage was $12.50 for 1 polish!!!

Blimey, it really is all about the hype!
I meant to have a look, but didn't get round to it. My Indielust is waning at the moment, I think once the FFs have arrived from Eclecticco and I've used my Llarowe credit up I'm going to take an Indie holiday. I'm starting to see basically the same thing in similar regurgitated forms and want to get a bit more creative with layering etc. myself.

I'm gonna start chilling out with indies also particulary because of costs, postage etc, from the US. Still have loads to get through anyway!

2 - 3 mins that insane. I like the idea behind Nerd Lacquer but nothing made me go oooh.

There's a lot of Indies that are just very samey - only so many glitter and base combo's you can do. I may change my mind when my other orders turn up.

I sent an enquiry last night about the postage charge and stock info. I had a very speedy reply:

Pretty much all international shipping has a $10 surcharge above the regular shipping costs (except Canada, which isn't that much more expensive than the US). In shipping internationally before, it always costs about $10 more to ship nearly anywhere in Europe/Far East than it does to ship domestically. It varies a little by country, of course, but that's about par. Shipping 9oz to the US, for example (which is appx what a package with 3 bottles weighs) is a little over $3. To ship that weight first-class to the UK is a little over $14.

It'll take me about a week or so to work through the current orders, then another week to make more stock, so I should be open again in around 2 weeks or so!

I got three. It was only by accident as I saw someone saying the shop was open. I got Cyanide, Chewie didn't get a medal and All Time and Space.

Shipping was the same for the three. Was disappointed to see people buying 2 of colours 'by mistake'. Makes me mad as everyone should have a chance.
