Forum Help
Is there any way to jump to the unread items as I keep having to scroll over and over through things I've already read. To be honest that is why I like MSE - I can have it all just in one long list of comments and if I click through from the email it just takes me to the next post I've not read. I'm findint this all rather more complicated and time consuming

Re: Forum Help
Do you follow the links from an email, or just come straight here?
MSE is vbulletin and you have to pay for the licence to that, where as this was free.
If you go to any thread there is an actions button in the top right and you can jump to the posts you haven't read since your last visit if that helps.

Re: Forum Help
If you look to the right hand side of the page, after the name of the last poster, you'll see a little page.
Sometimes this is white, and other times orange. If it's orange, click it and it will take you to the first new post. This works while being on the home page AND in each individual forum.
I hope that helps

Re: Forum Help
Also, on the home page there's a link to View posts since last visit. (Just above the Forum list) That gives you a list of all threads that have been updated, and you click on the orange icon to go to first new post. You can then go back to the list, or I usually open the threads in a new tab.

Re: Forum Help
I can make it look more like MSE by moving the names over to the left. Do you think that will help?
Infact, I am going to go and mess in the control panel

Re: Forum Help
I kind of liked them to the right, but that is purely down to scrolling for me, as my text is magnified, alongside the res i use, so i usually magnify the post to fill the screen. However on the left I miss the names, but then on the right I kinda missed the names of who posted. What I found great on mse was the names on the top when they finally changed that!
But with this one, cus there is no junk, or well might be, I use Adblock, basically i see full width of the forum. As in it stays fixed width when magnified.

Re: Forum Help
It definitely feels more like home this way round.
Ooh there's wierd - I see you added a thanks button but its for the whole topic it seems, I can't press it on more than one post.

Glad it feels more like home. It is what we were all used to, so should feel a bit better. The thanks thing isn't as user friendly, but you can press it more than once I think

Am I being blind (suspect yes) but where is the thanks button!? Lol
Re: Forum Help
Where can I see what blogs people have as I know MSE banned blogs but I am assuming lots of people on here have them as I just love looking at photos.

Its in French - merci! mext to the quote button.
And if I try to hit it on this post I get a message that says its already been thanked.

Re: Forum Help
Oh god - there's plusses and minuses too - and being the button presser I am I had to click and it takes you to a page that says 'your vote has been cast'
What the heck ahve I voted for? Apologies if someone gets some negative point as I was just playing and can't see what I've done and don't know how to undo it.
waaiiiillll I hate unfamiliar software with sodding icons and things

I dont see the thanks button either, there's nothing next to the quote button on mine
Is it cos i'm on Firefox? does that make a difference?
I can see the plus and minus thing

I'm on firerox too so its not that. Although I've realised I think its only in this thread! Maybe its something I did when I started the thread. I can't find anything in the help section.
Confused too!

Re: Forum Help
I've just had a look and it seems it only appears on a thread that you have started so you can thank people for replying to it.
I can see it on the thread i started 'What are you wearing today?' but not on other peoples threads

But only the whole thread - I just tried to thank this post and it definitely said the topic was already thanked when I clicked for the first time. Seems a bit pointless to me.

Re: Forum Help
There a guide on the image hosting sites thread. Flickr etc are free and surprisingly easy to use - you can't upload directly from comp or phone. HTH

I only signed up for Flickr for this forum so I'm pretty new to it too! It seems ok on my BB but either should be ok on an HTC
