Not necessesarily (god that's hard to spell & I think its still wrong). It depends if you feel resentful. OH and I do different things and I relish the peace when he sods off and I get the house to myself.
Do you wish you were there?
If not then there's no reason to feel bad - polay music he hates, eat food he can't stand the smell of, get pissed (OH hates me drunk) add generally do all the things you'd like to do if you lived alone.
If you do wish you were there then do you want to be with his friends, or wish you had more of your own? Either way only you can make a move to change that.
Hope you're actually having a good time and enjoying your own company!

Re: History repeating.......
Sometimes I quite likes it when he goes out but when he's been out for nearly all of the day and we haven't spent any time together it upsets me he'd rather drink alcohol than be with me.
He doesn't go there with friends, just by himself standing at the bar. Trouble is he is a horrible drunk. I mean a not very pleasant person and he knows I hate it when he's had a drink.

That doesn't sound very nice How about suggesting a meal out together or something next time he wants to go out for a couple of drinks? The food will absorb some alcohol so he won't get so drunk, and you'll get to spend time with him?

I can imagine that's not much fun - I probably put OH on the other side of that equation. If he's anything like me the booze is a way to obliterate whatever is bothering him - not a way to avoid you.
Not sure what to recomend as I know nagging at me just makes me cross and worse.

Re: History repeating.......
Can you get a hobby that occupies your weekends? Join a book club or something?
I can imagine it's upsetting when he's passing over time spent with you for a bar and some alcohol! Can you sit him down when he's sober and have a frank conversation with him about it? Maybe come to a compromise where you don't mind him going out to the pub once a fortnight and the other weekend of the fortnight you do something together?

I feel for you shoppingaddict. It doesn't sound strange to me - I'm in exactly the same position except I don't even have any work colleagues to go out with either.shoppingaddict wrote:This is going to sound strange but I don't really have any friends. We should have a meet up one weekend for all of us who are usually stuck in on our own

Nice idea. Obviously it would have to be somewhere with lots of nail polish shops!xoxo wrote:We should have a meet up one weekend for all of us who are usually stuck in on our own

Or we could find a weekend when travelodge have their cheapy sales, all book ourselves a room and take our stashes then take over the lobby while we drool over each others collections

I'd have to bring OH if I was to bring the stash as I don't have a car and even my not so huge stash would be too heavy to carry!
The idea of Malcolm in a room full of women with polish addictions does bring a smile to my face though;)

Not a sad muppet, I am exactly the same.
I don't know why women seem to tend in this position, where as it doesn't seem to happen to men.
