Silly question time
You know those little tubs of nail polish remover, the ones with a sponge inside soaked in polish and you stick your finger in and twist it a few times....
Well if they dry out can you just put any old polish in there?

In theory I reckon you could re-soak the sponge wesker, but in practise if the sponge has been used enough for the remover to have been used up then I'd guess that the sponge may be too loaded with old polish to be of much use. If the remover that was in the sponge originally has just evaporated then I reckon re-soaking's a good call

Just be careful what sort of polish remover you use, if it's a plastic pot. I remember years ago putting some in an empty margarine pot which it promptly dissolved and I ended up with a remover soaked duvet (It's so long ago I can't even remember why I did it.......)
