Re: Show us your Stash !
I've tried to organise my stash. It's not great, but for limited space it works for me.
Glitters, more glitters and Kleancolor minis, empty bottles, polishes for frankening and most used top and basecoats and purples.

Resurrecting this thread as ,totally by chance, OH took a photo of my stash today to use for his 'Picture a day'. Not quite the vision I had of all my lovelies together but here you go.

Re: Show us your Stash !
I always love these kind of threads, I love seeing how other people store their pretties!
I have a complete and comprehensive list of my polishes in Google Docs, arranged by brand with descriptions of each polish, so I can index them a bit easier. They live in a white Helmer next to my desk, I'll take pictures if people want but again, they're just arranged in neat rows by brand, nothing too exciting (except the indie drawer, which is like a glitter explosion )
I started off on nail wheels but quickly found them losing pace with my collection. Couldn't store them the way I wanted to, and it was hard to add in extra polishes at a later date. So instead, I started to make swatchsicles. My boyfriend very nicely made me a box to store the swatchsicles in, so he had fun too!
Here is the Box O' Swatches, missing the 8 most recent purchases of my current 280 total

The sticks have the brand name and polish name on the front, and number of coats on the back. Makes it easy to pair up glitters with undies, or so you know to avoid a really sheer polish when you're in a rush!

Re: Show us your Stash !
Wow thanks ladies, I really love seeing stash pictures.
I'm going to catalogue all my polishes in a Word document next week.

I am on a no-buy now though. Once my Glitzology order arrives (if it ever comes) of 12 minis I may have to buy one more to get an even 600.

Re: Show us your Stash !
Lol well I don't blame you! I'm on a bit of a no buy right now because if I buy polishes I won't be able to eat......
Re: Show us your Stash !
587! I Shall tell OH and then he can't complain for a very very long time!
Senoshi how do you make the swatchicles, or rather what did you make them from? I have wheels but they are a bit aggravating and the plstic sticks are rather expensive. Love the box too - I shall be sending OH that picture;)
Mine are catalogued by hand in a spiral notebook. Not like me at all really as I am an excel addict, but I tend to write as I swatch.
I seem to have a brain like a sieve these days so if I don't number and itemise as I go there's no chance I'll remember what was what by the time I reach a computer;)

Re: Show us your Stash !
I think my collection has actually shrunk since I last posted (or I'm in total denial). I gave loads of polishes to my mum and sister, and I've tried to ease off the buying. This is my current storage solution.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
All my other bits and bobs are in various boxes that I keep together in a bag.

HanSpan, your collection is beautiful. I added painted stickers to the tops of some of my polishes at the weekend

The swatchicles are really easy, actually! They're done with wooden coffee stirrers, a cool-melt glue gun (I got mine from The Range years ago), and multiple sizes of clear fake nail tips from eBay (I only use sizes 1, 2, 3 and 4 - the others are too small for my tastes, so they just get binned). It can take a long time to get going the first time, it seems like you need -loads-, but now I just have a pot full of empty swatchsicles ready to be painted and labelled as and when I get new polishes! And do get the OH to join in, mine really enjoyed it! Nail polish is too girly to be of interest but apparently building a large box with cardboard separators in is very manly and interesting!
Re: Show us your Stash !
I'm up to around 440 odd now
I have gone through and painted them all on wheels in colour hues. I had recorded each one on small record cards but they were getting a bit bit battered and I got cross when I made an error and had to start again. So, I downloaded the app 'Evernote' on my ipad. If anyone is looking for a way to record everything, I recommend it. I have little folders that have each colour wheel recorded and I've added a picture of the wheel to each folder. Best still, I can search on words. I find it hard to keep on top of all the names of the Nails Inc colours so it's fab to just be able to enter the name and see if I already have it. This was the only way I can think of showing you:

Re: Show us your Stash !
I do love you all so much. I seem so much less anally retentive than I think of myself amongst all this frantic swatching and cataloguing;)
I can't stand having to take the bottles out to look at them so every one has a blob of polish on top. If necessary I hole punch a piece of a white adhesive label and blon on that.
The boxes are just WHS A4 filing boxes. I really do hanker after a helmer but where the heck would I put it? Might have to measure up and find a slot and throw something else out - eek -as a total magpie (hoarder tendencies) that gives me palpitations.
Now I MUST go to bed! I have to get up and got and at least look like I'm awake at work, and tiredness won't improve my current stoppy mood at all.

Re: Show us your Stash !
Everyone else's polish is so well organised. I really do need to make a list of my stash as it's getting to the point now when I can't always remember which polishes I already have.
