Today I painted nails for 5 hours solidly......!
Well, I took the stamping stuff and a selection of polishes to the Scout Fete today and set up indoors in the café area as the main field was so windy. I had a cup of tea and got all of my bits'n bobs out and hung around for half an hour before my sister turned up and wanted a mint background with blue leaves (she was kindly being my walking advert, she normally will only wear soft pink and has palpitations at the thought of patterns or glitter). From that point on as people watched the process and saw her nails I had a queue and painted and stamped non stop. Many went away and came back later, some missed out.
I made it clear that I was an amateur and not a professional but I still got asked for my card twice and invited to another fete! (Very flattering but not an avenue I'll be heading down.)
I was amazed at how few people are aware of the stamping process and are unaware of holo polishes (I took some Laylas along) and the range of glitters etc.
I was also pleasantly surprised at (even if I say so myself) the standard I achieved. I also thought I'd be doing mainly children but it was mostly adults of all ages and teenagers.
The Seche helped things along drastically reducing drying time ( I seched before stamping as well as after) and I remembered to take everything I needed with me (for once).
I actually really enjoyed it and made a few quid for the Group in the process!

Wow, well done Loola. Maybe you do have a future doing nails professionally?

Aaaaw, thanks ladies!
I don't think I'll be taking it up professionally though although I have thought of getting a certificate or whatever's needed to do it as a hospital visitor when all of the small people have started school. A couple of people today said that when they get their nails done at a salon there's no or little conversation - something I'm never short of!

well done, whereabouts did you do that?
I've got a certificate in mani/pedi and I'm not sure I'd have the guts to do that!

It was at the Scout/St Margarets Fete Jo. Only a small affair but as I'm a Beaver and Cub leader I did know quite a few people who were there - I still did lots of people I didn't know but as I'd done a few that I was comfortable with first, my confidence was boosted .

Well done!
I've only ever painted one person's and that was just plain polish. Not sure I'd have the guts but now you've said about hospital visiting I'm wondering. I'd never thought of that and even if I'm crap at nail painting I could read to people.
I feel I could do with something outside work. Might look into it! thanks for the nudge.

Nice one Loola, I wish I could paint other people's nails but I'm bloody useless.
