The Nail Bandit
I'm nowhere near as good at this as some of you ladies, but I thought what the hell anyway, and have just opened up a brand new blog.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is where you'll find it.
There's only one post with any substance up there at the minute, but hopefully will be able to add more by the end of the week. I should get a months worth at least out of my recent poundland haul alone, lol.
Hope it doesn't look too bad anyway, and if you have any suggestions I'm all ears.

Thanks! I'm not really used to doing "product photography" which is sort of what this is, but I'll hopefully get better at it. Need to get a light box.Geordie Nails wrote:Your photos are great and that is one gorgeous polish!
Can't argue about the polish, I'm in love with it.

I'm still to get a light box and I'm 2 years into (on-and-off) blogging Your natural lighting is great, you can see the A England perfectly.
Re: The Nail Bandit
Quite frankly your blog is amazing, let alone when you factor in that it's only been up for what...a few days! Very easy to navigate, clean font with big beautiful pix. Great header, the only thing I would say is that "the NE of England" is a bit hard to read against Hot Looks and OPI background. You could outline the text in black to make it stand out, but other than that: Kudos!
Re: The Nail Bandit
Aww, thanks for the kind words everyone.
I must confess, this isn't the first time I've had a blog, I first started blogging about 10 years ago, though I haven't done it in a few years so I'm more than a bit rusty! Plus I've never blogged on this subject before (it was previously just personal or techy stuff on an informal level). Good to know the layout is working, though I'm sure I'll tweak it to hell in the coming months because I just can't resist doing that.
Thanks for your comment on the header Nail Luxxe. It's actually text over the background image so not that easy to add a shadow, but I agree something needs doing. I'll have a play when I get a minute.

Re: The Nail Bandit
Thanks for a swatch of the Briar Rose in natural light without any fancy effects! You've saved me £9 and a bit of disappointment as I was expecting it to be quite a bit lighter than that going by other swatches on the web.
Re: The Nail Bandit
Aww, I'm sorry it's put you off, it's a really gorgeous shade. It's quite difficult to capture accurately on camera too, I'd say it's maybe just a smidgen lighter in reality as compared to my photos. But it is what I'd call a mid pink (some have called it purple but it's pink to me) and not light.Peony wrote:Thanks for a swatch of the Briar Rose in natural light without any fancy effects! I've just published a swatch post of OPI's German-icure - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I've also tweaked a few things on the blog, hope the header looks a wee bit better now. I'll eventually get a better header image but as I can't draw for toffee a photo has to suffice for now.

A new post up today, Butter London's Come to Bed Red - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I've decided to do a weekly series (Ruby Tuesday) on reds, so guess I'd better get swatching a few.
If you ladies have any red recommendations I'd love to hear them. I own a fair few but I'll need more for this series eventually. It's an excuse to buy more polish anyway (like I needed one!).

My first post where I feel like I may actually be contributing something useful! - a review of TarasTalons polish club - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Hope it's an ok review, I tried to cover all bases, and I really am very pleased with the polishes received considering the price and the price that a lot of Indie brands sell for.

Finally got another post done. Sinful Colors Rich in Heart and Pumpkin Spice - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
A nice warm toned mani, which is what I need in this horrible cold weather.

Re: The Nail Bandit
Thanks! I love a nice red. I missed last Tuesday's though, if I get time tomorrow I might do a double post. Depends a lot on the weather and if I have enough light to take photos with in the time I have. I really need to get a lightbox, lol.LoolaBeanbag wrote:I've only just seen this Jackie, I love the idea of Ruby Tuesday . Chocolate Sundae sounds a great name for a series, but I think one series on the go at a time is more than enough for me.
