Microbead manicure sets in Primark
I was sure there was a thread about these microbead / caviar manicures somewhere, but I can't find it so I'm going to have to start a new one!
Primark have sets at the moment - you get a polish and a bottle of microbeads. They were with the christmas-y makeup gift sets. Sorry - didn't pay enough attention to the colours available or the price, but it can't have been more than a couple of quid. *must pay more attention in future*

Ohhh sounds interesting. My local doesn't do the nail varnishes so I doubt they'll do these but I'll be sure to look next time I'm in. Thanks for that.
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
They're with the Christmas decs and gift sets rather than the polish, so definitely worth a look

Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
£2.50 in Pearl and Black. My friend just called me from Primark to see if I wanted any
As I actually use my hands and can't sit all day admiring my fingers I politely declined, wouldn't last 5 minutes on me lol

Yep - that's one of the reasons I didn't pay too much attention when I saw them. I don't like the effect that much, looks damn fiddly to achieve, I'm sure it would feel horrible, and it just wouldn't last! This one's not for me

Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
MUA have also started doing some (available at Superdrug). I think they were £3, and they're a mix of colours - the one I got is blue, pink and silver.
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
Have you used them yet Sam? I did see them in superdrug but didn't purchase....
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
No I haven't yet, but planning on using them soon! I did, however, decide to do a dry run to see how easy it'd be to get them out on to the nail. For the record, very easy. I don't know why I thought that was a sensible idea...they went everywhere lol, and they're so so small!
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
Can you post a piccie when you've had a go.... I wonder if they do them in red and green for Christmas....
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
The Superdrug here only had two colours, the one I got and a black one, but then it is Maidstone and nowhere has much of anything. I miss cities. Mine's called Pisces though, so I'd imagine there are 12, one for each starsign?
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
I just got my microbeads from ebay. Paid about £2 for a set of 12 colours from china.
They are quite easy to apply, just put a thick slow drying base coat on and stick them in.

MUA at Superdrug also have the microbead sets (can't remember how much but given it's MUA i'd assume only a couple of quid or less). Lots of different colour combos

Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
Anyone actually tried these yet and gone on to wash dishes/cook meals/hoover etc? I'm dying to know how they stand up to real life
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
Right then ladies, I finally got round to trying out my MUA beads!

They weren't the easiest thing to apply. It would've been easier if they were in a pot you could just dip your nail into instead of having to shake them out on to your nail. Not that it was too bad, it only took a few seconds...
I applied one coat of seche vite over the top, because I figured they wouldn't even survive me sleeping without it, and actually I don't think you can tell there's top coat on there - it hasn't ruined the look at all. I've been running round like a headless chicken today trying to sort out registering with a new doctors, sorting out internet, shouting at Virgin Media, getting keys cut, Christmas shopping etc etc and they've held up absulutely fine. I haven't washed any dishes yet. And probably won't. I don't like doing dishes.... I've been rubbing them constantly though (because I just can't leave bumpy things on my nails alone, and none have come off.

Very pretty indeed!

Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
Ohhhh pretty!!! *makes mental note to visit during quarterly trip to town tomorrow*
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
I just had a look on the MUA website and it seems there's 5 different ones. So they just selected 5 star signs to use as very names...very odd lol.
Re: Microbead manicure sets in Primark
It's three for two on all cosmetics in Superdrug at the moment so I picked up some of these yesterday - they look really pretty in the bottle so I'm just hoping my nails hurry up and grow so I can use them! They're £3 each so you can get three for £6, they'd make lovely stocking fillers for nail-minded people

They aren't on the Superdrug website as far as I can see. Am I missing them or do they only have them in store?
Oh no ignore that - I found them by searching for the word 'constellation' but they only ahve three colours now and all three are pinky
