How to start a blog?

I know there are thousands of nail polish blogs out there at the moment and I don't think I can do anything special or different. I certainly don't have a fancy camera or light boxes....

Is it worth doing? I think I could just chat about stuff (like what I do here I suppose) but I wouldn't know where to start!

I tried to start a blog a few years ago with blogger (the google one!) but never got very far as I couldn't work out how to make it look nice!

Any hints tips point me in the right direction please!!

I would play around with a few different blog sites such as blogger and Wordpress before you promote it or anything. Find the one you're comfortable with and mess about with the settings until you get it how you want it.

I'm sure loads of people would be interested in your nail art and what you have to say. Although there are loads of nail blogs they are all unique and people's personalities, skills and tastes makes each one different, fantastic and great to read.

Also you don't need a fancy camera etc, a lot of bloggers use camer phones or cheaper cameras. Also not all bloggers use a light box, however if you have a google you can get instructions on how to make one, you can also pick them up cheap on eBay.

Definitely go for it As Tara says, there'll be something unique about your blog that will appeal to people, even if it's not obvious to you. I don't use a lightbox or a fancy camera - pictures taken in daylight but not direct sunlight are normally really good quality (I think...). Pictures taken in artificial lights aren't so great, but I still post a lot of those because I'm too impatient to wait until the morning to take photos lol.

I don't use a lightbox either. I have an empty Leighton Denny box which is white, and I stick my hand in that to give a clear photo.

I enjoy taking part in the challenges, that bit is amazing.

Well I started a blog yesterday evening! I'm going to do a couple of posts today and put the link up later for your opinions! Quite excited actually!

I like looking at blogs and seeing all the different ideas (and the sparklies!)
I was thinking about starting one too, but I don't think I'd be able to update it regularly and I wouldn't have a clue what sort of stuff to put on it.
