HanSpan's not a blog at all!
I'm so bad at posting pictures when I'm actually wearing somehting I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd start my own thread here as a pseudo blog. Basically just pictures of my latest attempts - both good and bad!

Vinylux Purple Purple. Lovely colour and finish but it shows ALL the wierd lumps and bumps and disparate shapes of my nails. And the split where I stabbed a cupboard door with my middle nail and had tried glue without teabag to fix it - fail:(

One of my Kiko sugar mat haul. Have to say I love this, and it does a pretty good job of disguising my teabag and glue fix.
Not all that long lasting - although that could becuase I am a picker, and the texture makes me want to pick even more than usual!

How've you found the vinylux? I've ordered the topcoat and hoping I can use it over normal polish...

I did use the topcoat over something else - I just can't remember what! I think I prefer the seche vite, plus Seche is easier to get hold of! So I've returned to that for now but I will give it another go.

first ever gradient with all three of my lovely Emily de Molly's. think I need a bit of practice to make it more obvious and the change more fluid.

So even after three pretty generous coats this is a bit seethrough. I think I need to start with something yellowish underneath. And although the tomato red is lovely unfortunately I think the 'warm' version looks pretty revolting with my skin tone.
However its great fun! Sitting in the pub yesterday making patterns with the cold glass, and sprinkling cold water from the tap. Enless childish entertainment!
There's a bit of tip wear and some odd dark spots where there were tiny bubbles that have got grubby, but its done pretty well for what I thought was pretty cheap quality - given that I put it on Thursday night and spent the day at the pub yesterday and followed it with some slightly squiffy gardening last night!

Re: HanSpan's not a blog at all!
Hanspan I love your non-blog!
The kiko green is a stunner. It's also great to see how you got on with the colour changers - I agree that generally they need undercrackers and also agree with the fun factor I'd be tempted to layer the tomato over a pale pink base. These would also make great jelly sandwiches I reckon.
The EdeM gradient is so sparkly, I still do my Fisher Price gradients with a glass fleck or glitter polish, they have a more forgiving finish! I keep meaning to try a holo gradient though.

This thread is a really good idea HanSpan. That green Kiko sugar mat looks lovely on you, it suits your skin tone very well.

Brilliant idea! When I'm brave enough I might try it - but don't hold your breath!! Great colours you've used - love the Sugar Mat, looks so neat.

You should we'd love to see some piccies!
Re: HanSpan's not a blog at all!
Hanspan, you've inspired me to get the colour changers back out
I tried the green to clear (temperature one) over Zoya Rory which resulted in sludge basically. Then inspiration hit me - I added a coat of holo topcoat (Hits Hefesto) and kerblam! Magic! I had a mystical dark metallic looking holo which changed to pale pink holo. A lucky fluke! Of course then I plastered the Hefesto over all of the colours; it looks brilliant over the simple dark purple to pink.
I also layered the green and aqua ones (which both go clear) over a coat of silver for opacity, that worked well too (even better with Hefesto over the top though).

Re: HanSpan's not a blog at all!
thanks for the comments.
Its odd how green nails suit my skin, bit like people say the blue hair suits me - somehow I feel neither of those things should be true on a human;)
Naked today after removing the colour chnage, I really was just too hot to face polishing last night.

So thought it was about time to sort some photos as I had a night in alone. I really do hate this part!
First two very old pics I found:

Brief interlude whilst Malcolm goes off to fetch supplies from Tesco so here's Dance Legends 170 Thermo with (I think) Kleancolour Scarlet holo over the top.
