Urgent question - nail glue
So I just managed to split a nail so I'm repairing using the tea bag method but the nail glue is taking ages to dry, how long does everyone else have to wait normally?!
Re: Urgent question - nail glue
couple of minutes. Nail glue is essentially superglue isn't it anyway?
Re: Urgent question - nail glue
Seconding pullip, a few minutes (and yes, it is normally just a small bottle of superglue!).
iirc, acetone debonds superglue, so if you've gotten any remover near it, it might not be curing properly. Perhaps give it a gentle breeze with a hair dryer, see if that speeds it up?

Re: Urgent question - nail glue
I had this problem last week trying to mend a broken nail. It did dry eventually but it kept splitting and i had to admit defeat eventually and cut the nail short yesterday.
Another one was splitting today so have cut that down too. Two short and 8 long now, gonna have to cut them all down i think

This one has split right on the fleshy bit
I've painted over it now so hope it stays intact!

Yeah mine split really low too i think i posted a pic on here last week.
I kept it together for a week or more by patching it everyday, just long enough for it to grow so i could cut it level.
I gave up in the end as i knew sooner or later i was gonna catch it on something and rip it off resulting in one very sore finger

Re: Urgent question - nail glue
Out of interest, what nail glue does everybody use? I've tried a couple and haven't found a really good one yet.
The best one I've used was the Elegant Touch brush on nail glue because it's more precise to apply. I've tried the Kiss and Boots nail glue but found the lid just sticks shut on the dropper type bottles.

Re: Urgent question - nail glue
I gave up with the nail glue. It didn't dry so bought some brush on super glue yesterday which worked like a charm!
Re: Urgent question - nail glue
What I thought was nail glue was actually when fixing my split at Christmas was actually gem glue. Didn't do any harm and the nail glue I had was pap.
