Seche...am I doing some thing wrong?!
I decided to get some Seche a couple of weeks back, but I don't seem to be having much luck with it.If anything,I've got more dents and marks in my polish than normal I used it yesterday over one of the Essence Twilight polishes (which admittedly was quite thick) at about 4pm,was really careful after painting my nails, came home from a meal out at about 9pm and I had two big scrapes on different nails that I'm pretty sure weren't there when I went out Same thing happened last weekend and my whole mani smudged over an hour and a half after I'd done it when I dried my hands on a towel Could I just be putting on too thick or is it just not for me?!

Possibly too thick in application as I haven't had that happen to me. When I have put it on a bit thick it tends to smoosh rather than completely come off, but will dry hard eventually.

Strange... it dries on me in less than 2 minutes. Could be that you put it on too thick, or maybe a dud bottle?

Hmm...that's very strange. You do still have to be a little careful with it for a little while after application (I've lost polish off a nail when sticking my finger in the back of a shoe to pull it on like 10 minutes after application) but it's normally dry to the touch within a few minutes. I normally avoid having my hands immersed in water for an hour or so afterwards though, just in case, I don't know whether that actually makes a difference...

I agree this is strange - I use SV all the time and swear by it; I seldom have any problems. I tend to use it quite thick too. I'd say definitely avoid getting your hands wet in the first half hour or so.
Maybe try letting your polish dry a little between coats as you go, or use thinner coats of polish.

Most times I've used it,it's been over a brand I haven't used before .It worked fine the first time I used it over OPI,but since then I tried it over Essence,Nyx and Chit Chat and the results have been a bit dodgy! I'll persevere this week and try using thinner coats I was just a bit disappointed as every one else seems to swear by the stuff

I've not used any of those brands (apart from OPI of course) so I couldn't say for sure that it's good with them. Are the formulae on any of them a bit odd?
Re: Seche...am I doing some thing wrong?!
The Essence was pretty thick and the Chit Chat is a Poundland bargain so I guess that could have been the problem I've gone back to my trusty OPI Rapid Dy this evening ,but as that's starting to run out I'll have to get better at using the Seche

Definitely something odd going on - Seche is much better than RapiDry! Maybe have a go another time when you've got a little more time

Definitely something weird. I tried the OPI rapiDry and smudged all over the place! Seche is good on me except when I'm a numpty & start trying to open things with my thumb nails minutes after applying it! Oh and over the Kleancolour black holo it was hopeless - but so was everyhting else, still chewy after hours. Maybe its your bottle of Seche that's a problem?

LOL, I don't have any problems with the OPI,but I tend to paint my nails at about 9pm when I don't have to 'do' anything afterwards. I've used the Seche when I've painted my nails earlier in the day but thought I'd still given it enough time to dry out. I'll see how it goes this week

If I did mine at 9 with anything other than Seche I'd have to stay up till about 2am, without peeing, to prevent bedsheet or zipper marks;)

Re: Seche...am I doing some thing wrong?!
i was having problems until I read you have to create a bead and drag the bead over the nail not drag it like you would with polish. Dunno if that helps.
Re: Seche...am I doing some thing wrong?!
I tend to use quite thick coats of SV and it works fine but I have problems with very dense glitters or very thick polishes, you really have to make sure that they're dry between coats or they go squishy and just slide off the nail.
