It is a brilliant song, I love the version where the full band comes in towards the end.

What annoys me is Valerie by the Zutons, brilliant song but now mostly played is the version by Amy Drughouse
Why would a woman sing about another woman the original was better

Re: Music.....
Don't deny she had a voice, but since she died (to me anyway), they seem to have forgotten all the bad stuff she did. Certainly not the sort of role model I would want for kids.

No Surprises is a fantastic song, one of Radiohead's best.Laura wrote:For depressing I like "No Surprises" by Radiohead and "My Sweet Prince" by Placebo.
I'd forgotten how much I loved that song until I heard it again on The Voice. It always makes me cry though. My other depressing favourites are Everybody Hurts by REM, Goodbye My Lover and Carry You Home by James Blunt, The Scientist by Coldplay and several of The Smiths songs. Under the Sun by Alan Price upsets me too.SueD wrote:Current fave depressing song is My Immortal by Evanescence, even though it's old I only remembered about it a couple of weeks ago.
I'm a soppy shit though, I cry at anything.

Re: Music.....
oooh I used to be terrible at getting drunk and listening to sad songs.
Top ones I recall well were - REM Everybody Hurts, somewhere a clock is ticking Snow Patrol, Crystallised The XX, Ride Godskitchen Summer 2009 and I went through a Billy Holiday, Nina Simone drunk sad song phase at one point.
oooh I don't drink any more, but I can imagine Hurt by Jonny Cash would be a good one to listen to after a few. Well its good sad sober if that makes sense.

Favourite sad song... My Body Is A Cage, sung by Peter Gabriel. It was used in one of my favourite scenes in House!
Re: Music.....
I still absolutely adore the Broadchurch soundtrack by Ólafur Arnalds. It's so beautiful, evocative and haunting.

Re: Music.....
Rock music, heavy metal, industrial, gothic, punk, prog......Rock music baby
I have a bad feeling I'm older than many folks here, so I can list old and obscure and well as new and obscure. I do like a pretty wide range of stuff, I mean I have everything from Girls Aloud to Motorhead, REM to Ministry, Pink Floyd to Bob Seger. But, rock and metal is where I am most happy.
Last 5 CDs bought where Bad Polyanna, Winery Dogs, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Quireboys and Hawkwind.
