What's Your Music Taste?
Just wondered what music we're all into really.
I'm into lots of "dad music", Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel etc.
I do like lots of modern rock though Foo Fighters especially and I still love a bit of heavy stuff when I'm in the right mood, even though I stopped listening to it religiously when I was about 17...
Oh and of course I love Lady Gaga and Beyoncé I love a fair few pop tunes. I like pretty much anything but rap.

Re: What's Your Music Taste?
I'm currently obsessed with Skrillex! I used to be a goth and still have lots of Nightwish, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson etc. on my iPod. I also like the terrible-but-catchy songs on the radio, like Will.i.am's new song Bang Bang!
Re: What's Your Music Taste?
I love Elvis and the Foo Fighters. Foo's were one of the best gigs I have been to. Except a small secret Kasabian gig, that was all time the best cuz it was secret
Predominately Indie -early 90's and the later Britpop scene and the modern stuff like Muse etc (what XFM play really)
But I also like Reggae, some classical stuff even, old school Nina Simone and Billy Holiday and all that swinger stuff. And the Kinks and the rolling stones, ooh and velvet underground and the Beatles not so much... oh and Queen. I admit I like Queen.
But have recently been digging out my old Gods Kitchen, Gatecrasher, Judgement Sundays, Tiesto etc trance tunes for running to - and now having a dance/trance phase - and would love to go back to Ibiza next year, at 36 years old indeed.
I hate drum and bass with a passion. Its just noise.

I think this is beautiful by Jonny Cash - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I know it was a nine inch nails song, but I think Jonny Cash just makes it so beautiful.

Re: What's Your Music Taste?
Have to say my mind was completely blown when I found out Skrillex was Sonny from 'From First To Last'.
I upset my parents at the young age of 8 coming home from my older cousins house (who I idolised) with a pile of 7" Singles and a tatty Motorhead shirt. In those days you didn't wear school uniform so I lived in this shirt much to Mothers annoyance Between that and the constant blasting of Ace of Spades I think the tone was set.
From then on I turned to Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Poison etc and never really changed from those. I do listen to a lot of modern rock music. I love 30 Seconds To Mars, The Used, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, Lost Prophets (though feel somewhat guilty listening to LP now). Basically, if its on Scuzz or Kerrang I'll usually enjoy it.
The kids turned out the same was as well. Quite proud of the fact that Ellie can sing along to a Metallica album released 17 years before she was born.
I will confess though that Ellie has a guilty pleasure...One Direction. She loves them. Amuses me greatly how she'll go from Black Veil Brides to 1D. She'd be horrified if her friends knew though. I have the marvellous task of taking her to see them next year...cant wait

I've met MCR (a few times). Here's baby Ellie with Gerard Way, wont bore you with the pics of her with everyone else lol

Seen them so many times I lost count, got to be into the twenties easily. One of my all time favourite bands, as are The Used actually. Saw them in Manchester last year and it was an amazing amazing gig. I forgot Panic! At the Disco in that list as well, another band I always seem to repeatedly go and see
Re: What's Your Music Taste?
I like anything and everything really. Pop, indie, r&b, dance, rock, punk, ska, even a bit of dubstep. Not a fan of heavy metal, opera, classical or country though haha

Awww I never went to see MCR but I always wanted to, I fucking adore Panic as well, seen them three times... saw the Used once I think. Fall Out Boy as well, saw them 3 times but the new album is a pile of jizzy wank.
I've got the limited boxed edition of Black Parade somewhere with all the extra bits, god knows where it's gone though.

Tom bought me the limited Danger Days with the bandana , never did get the BP one though to be fair Bullets was always my favourite album. I can frequently be caught in a Used or an MCR hoodie I've got all the mini MCR Figures in the coffins, Ellie used to play with them when she was little. My most mortifying moment was when she told Ray Toro that she played with him the most. I was then left to explain to Ray, who was crying with laughter, what she meant. Gerard kissed her and told her she was adorable, don't think she'll ever forget that.
I've seen FOB twice. The first time Panic were supporting and blew them off stage. FOB were out of tune totally, Stumps voice was awful and the sound terrible. I assumed it was just a bad gig and so I did go and see them again. When they were equally as awful the second time round I concluded that they just weren't a live band. New album is ok, wouldn't go nuts over it. Having same thoughts of the new 30STM as well. Very hmmmmm.

Haha if I ever find it you can have it, I don't want it! I didn't like anything MCR did past BP, I think 3 Cheers was my fave although Bullets has got Halos on it... hmm! I never liked 30STM personally, think there was maybe 1 song I liked.
Panic are playing London soon I think and I don't have anyone to go with

Re: What's Your Music Taste?
Mine's pretty eclectic. Metal but not too heavy - I stop at ACDC, Motorhead is a bit much and lots of the modern thrashy stuff OH has is just ick. Whitesnake, thunder, Skin - been to see them all several times. Going to see Quireboys in a few months.
Also love lots of country - mainly newer stuff although I do love Dolly 'you have no idea how much it cost to look this cheap' Parton. She makes me laugh as well as loving lots of her music.
Quite happy with lots of pop that makes OH want to disown me. older Kylie & Madonna, Rick Astley, Five Star........
Oh & I love Hanson - how embarrasing should that be?
Don't really like punk, classical (my mother bored me to tears with it), rap (although some Nelly songs are too catchy for me to dislike), trance or anything with a beat that's so fast its like running - seems to trigger my anxiety.
I'll pretty much take each band, or even each song, and make a decision. So I've often hated bands then found I like just one song. Or bands I love have just a few songs I hate. I'll give msot things a go.

Re: What's Your Music Taste?
Mine is varied, to say the least. Ultimately though I like Euro House and handbag, verging on cheesy. I like music to cheer me up and can't be doing with lamented guitarry dirges.
I still find Enigma fascinating, and ska, and I do love a bit of Dolly too Han! Joan Armatrading, Gypsy Kings, The Macc Lads, Minaj, The Cure, Paul Simon, (with or without Art), and the Smiths to name a few. Nothing meaningful for me, just boppy crap.
Ninja, get on the plane! Party!
I was talking to a fellow parent the other day who I've known for a few years, but not all that well, she's 42. She said that her husband had been DJing the night before and I asked where out of courtesy (imagining the local village hall flanked by a few bales of hay). I nearly spat my tea across the table when she said 'The Ministry'!!
Apparently he does the odd stint here & there, she goes along too and has a fab time, says there's lots of people at the 35 - 45 mark out and having a great time.

Joan Armaplating oh yes. But Minaj does my head in, and the Smiths - cheerful? really? I think of them as wrist slashing LOL.
