Re: What annoys you?
people who can't admit they are wrong. why is it so hard to say 'sorry it was a typo', 'sorry I didn't read your email properly' 'oh sorry, yes I could have been clearer I was typing in a rush'.
Why is that sooooo difficult, but no instead of an apology I get ''...blah blah excuse excuse blah blah... now I feel like I've done something wrong''
How childish. I work for a very childish, cover your arse and never admit your wrong company.
and breath.

Re: What annoys you?
Oh I'm with you ninja. Some years ago our organisation had some improvement thingy where the 'blame culture' was supposed to be a thing of the past. Is it my arse! Unsurprisingly people try to cover up becuase they often get it in the neck if they admit mistakes. I can't bring myself to lie so I'm constantly out of step which makes for endless stress and tension.
When asked if I can do something - if I know I can't I say so. 99% of the rest of the workplace say yes then just don't deliver. How come I'm the one that gets in a row?
When I make a mistake I say so - I expect my staff to do the same. I've not got any at the moment but probably will have soon and will have to start the exhausting process of reprogramming them NOT to make excuses and wriggle and lie.
Its so wearing - but the example from those at the top makes it inevitable I suppose.
God how depressing.

Re: What annoys you?
totally - I'd much rather be honest and say oops and I admire people who can do the same. Everyone makes mistakes, admit to it, fix it and move on. Simple. It also throws people off as they don't expect it. We had a high level management change about 6 months ago and I think its all filtering down from that.
I did get annoyed at Shoppe Electico and Harlow and Co yesterday - nothing in stock that I would have bought. Pah.

Re: What annoys you?
Almost just crapped myself - someone just buzzed my buzzer to my flat. Not anyone for me obviously - just some lazy neighbour in my block who can't be bothered to get their keys out. I was so relaxed - almost jumped out of my skin ! Now that's annoying !

Nope. Currently helping to paint the woodwork on the outside of the house. Just what I want to be doing on a beautiful summers day when I've got loads of good books waiting for me...........Laura wrote:Where is everyone? Surely you can't all have lives.

Men who just sit there and watch someone struggle with something. Pisses me off.
Re: What annoys you?
I've just hacked into my own laptop as the password stopped working. Using Internet forums for help - it was surprisingly easy to do from a black boot up screen, anyone could get a laptop and break in password protected or not anyway .. Im now going to enjoy the sunshine

Someone's dog has been barking for the last twenty minutes.
If they shut it up soon, I'm going to go round and shut it up.

The fact that I meant to post this in "What's On Your Mind?" annoys me.

I was as well Sue (though I usually am, but went to bed "early" at 2:30!), too bloody hot. My room is a total sweatbox because I'm too scared to open the windows, deathly afraid of moths and those utterly hideous flying spider things!

Re: What annoys you?
I ended up being awake between 2.30 and 4.30am...not sure why but I was grumpy when I woke up this morning ! Oh and I HATE daddy long legs ...they don't bother me in daylight but when they start flapping around the lights and the pc screen in the evening I turn into a demented woman armed with a anything I can lay my hands on to squash them with....

I dread to think of how much hairspray I must have wasted attempting to disable foul creatures of the night.

Within about 10 minutes of opening all the windows this morning it seemed every fly in Maidstone decided to come visit me. Grr... If only I could be bothered to dig my hairspray out of the box under the bed.

Please get it out Sam, even if it reduces the amount of flying things in Kent by just a few!!!

People who take food off the supermarket shelves, eat it/give it to their children to eat and then pay for the empty packet.
