 Get the DVDs! Beauty and the Beast is actually what got me into French when I was 5 and I'm now a French graduate.

^_^ Faut dire que j'ai téléchargé le film avec band de son français et j'étais un peu déçue... le narrateur au début n'a pas la magique de l'anglophone du tout

I did a degree in French and Spanish and have barely spoken a word of either since I left university in 1997.

I've got an A level in French, I can read it very well but I can't speak it to save my life. Unfortunately I had two teachers at college, one for grammar and one for vocab and other bits. The grammar teacher was truly awful and so I know all the words but I struggle to put them together. I only got a C

I did GCSE's in French, Spanish and German, I was that freaky language kid at school. I got an A in French, a C in German and an A* in Spanish - I really wish I'd done an A level in Spanish as well... I'd like to learn Italian now. Particularly as I've just made friends with an Italian man and he could help me

Being a freaky language kid rules  we only had French and German on offer at my school, I went mad when I learnt they'd introduced Latin after I'd left! I say definitely learn Italian if you have the time.

I did Latin. It was not pretty  

I imagine it's really hard? But I'm passionate about language history and etymology so Latin would be amazingly interesting to study.

It's really helpful though, it's the basis for all the Romance languages including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

I learnt Portuguese at uni, it was HARD!

I've also done lessons in Swedish, Russian and Swahili LOL

I only learnt Spanish for 8 months before doing my exam, which I finished in 20 minutes and then walked out hahaha... yes I love languages

I can read Portuguese but I can't speak it. It's a strange language isn't it, it sounds quite guttural.

I can do esmaltes, vernis, nagellack, طلاء الأظاف negelleck, configere nitorem, lakier do paznokci and that's about it
