Velvet Nails

So the salon that I normally go to for all my waxing needs needed hand models for velvet nails and they asked me if I would model my nails for their website. I agreed and went to have it done this morning.

Apart from the fact that she filed my nails having just got them to my perfect shape (v. cross about that) they dont look too bad. What do you think?

I love the colour and you have lovely nails - I'm not sure I'd like the velvet texture though, I think it would creep me out!

Hummm well quite alot of the 'velvet' has worn away already!!! Lol

Not a fan of the effect but the colour is nice.

Your nails are lovely, but that effect on my fingers would make me heave. Bit like that fuzzy felt on paper you used to get at school to make pictures with.

I think they are cute, but given my life is spent in the sink or under the car then I can't really see that being a good idea for me

As a polish picker, I think they'd only last until the end of the road after i'd left the salon. I'd have to pick at the bits

Well as you can tell the 'velvet' hasn't lasted very long at all. Not even any heavy wear!

Its made your thumb look dusty

Yup both my thumbs is the only place it's left. And you probably can't tell by the photo but the velvet is no longer pink, just looks dirty from where I've been washing my hands etc. My thumbs just look dirty!!!

Its official I hate velvet nails. Just look dirty and the texture is now making my skin crawl. This will be going this afternoon!!!!

The effect reminds me a little of getting pva glue on your thumbs, its goes sort of bitty and discoloured.

I imagine its nice for a night out though, perhaps it would work better in a darker colour?

That last photo is revolting lol.

I think I'll give it a go but I haven't come across and cheap flocking powder in dark colours so I'm holding out for now. Have you seen the velvet ruffian manis?

Isn't it just! Couldn't wait to get it off my nails!!!

I've just made my own flocking powder and gave it a try. I quite like the effect but it was such a faff I might put the Ciate on my Christmas list

Grim stuff I was considering the Ciaté but I think I'll give it a miss!

Don't blame you. Mentioned it to the lady who done it at my last visit and she didn't seem to care, so oh well!

I do want to try the Ciaté Caviar Manicure though. I bought some caviar beads on eBay for 2 quid cos I didn't wanna pay for Ciaté!

I am happy to have a go at most things, but this is beyond me too

The velvet nails and caviar nails really don't appeal to me at all.
