I dread gradients, constantly, they are awful. I always make them look like dog dirt. Not a good day.

shoppingaddict, I didn't look at any tutorials so I can't help you sorry! I just picked some colours I liked and started drawing on them...

And gradient nails are the devil. Why oh why can't I make them look as nice as other people can??

I particulary like the bubbles! If you'd not said they were a mistake I'd have thought they were intentional.
It looks lovely, although I can understand your reluctance to waste your years away doing it - I've not even tried as I just know it will be a pig's ear!

Sam, I think it looks good... I find with gradients that it does totally depend on the polish you are using, and try and use stuff that is of similar opacity on application. I use a lot of Kiko polish for my gradients.

Also, I think little and often on the dabbing/smooshing onto my nails (it dries pretty quick) and just do 2/3 dabs per nail (also go up and down just a tiny bit as it will help the colours mesh together) then move to the next nail. Are you painting the polish onto the sponge, or onto paper then dabbing the sponge in? I always paint onto the sponge, then do the first splodge onto paper, then onto my nails.

I like this tip Very Happy I've been doing splodge on paper then dabbing the sponge but I always get farrrrr too much and the gradient fails. I'm gonna try your way Very Happy

Pretty proud of these Lion King nails (even if Simba does look more like a horse than a lion...).

No need to hate me then lol. I can only do things on a nail sized canvas...anything bigger and you can see how bad I actually am :p

These are the nails (and face) I wore for a Halloween party last night!
