Re: Polished Art
Thanks girls
Just posted the Hitman nails on my blog [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
I've got a calendar with all my posts for the rest of January planned out. I know that's only 10 days, but I'm pretty proud of myself lol.

Re: Polished Art
I foolishly said I was going to attempt a stamping manicure at least once a month. Here's January's attempt:

Re: Polished Art
Thanks Sarah
You leave some polish out to dry, and once it's almost dry you can use a cocktail stick to pull it into strands. That's a terrible explanation lol. If you google it there's probably loads of tutorials (would have been a good idea for me to look at one of those...).

Re: Polished Art
That is rather nice. Is that a technique that you devised yourself Sam? It's a cracking idea, waaaaaay too advanced for me!

Re: Polished Art
Very nice - when I tried it that was most certainly not what it ended up looking like. Mine was a complete Dogs Dinner! And the cleanup was horrendous;)

Sam wrote:Thanks It's such a pretty image, it's the reason I bought that plate lol.
I have that plate too. But your beautiful finish puts my efforts to shame! I love those colours, I would never have put these two colours together, I usually reach for the silvers if I want a metallic stamp but this is stunning. Will be fishing my golds out next time, thank you!

Re: Polished Art
That stamping is ace Sam. I just cannot get down with the stamping, I'm so hit and miss with it
Re: Polished Art
Thank you everyone!
LoolaBeanbag, it's not a technique of my creation (very few things are...imagination is something I lack lol). I first saw it on blogs a few months ago, but I generally avoid trying out new things because I'm boring like that. I've made a list of techniques that I've thus far dodged though, and I'm trying to work my way through them all! I recommend the Barry M Gold Foil for stamping (just make sure it's the foil one and not just the gold...that one's rubbish).
Hanspan, clean up was rather a nightmare... I guess it'd be sensible to tape your fingers or something like people do for water marbling. You know, people who haven't been defeated by such techniques...
I can be pretty useless at stamping as well. I did a manicure back in September using the piano and music image and OH MY WORD it was a nightmare. Whichever way I was scraping, I just seemed to scrape half the design off. It took like four attempts for each nail. It was soul destroying.

Re: Polished Art
Oooh, they're all lovely! I particularly love that black and gold one, it's gorgeous!
Re: Polished Art
Thanks both
Ninjajane...I tried some stamping again the other night and I literally couldn't get anything on the stamper lol. So it's rather hit or miss at the moment. In that heart manicure though I used a Konad stamping polish and I guess that does make a difference!
