Zoya - Aurora
I lusted after it for ages and finally took the plunge but found it pretty meh on the nail.
Not sure if it is because I have much better holos now or I need to wear it in better weather but I wasn't in love.
It also looks naff with glitter on top - didn't even know that could happen!

I'm with you entirely on that Jasmina - I was disappointed with Aurora, very little sparkle and I was expecting it to be more purpley than the wine colour it really is.

Yes completely about the colour, my monitor tricked me for Orly Frolic as well, online swatches looked totally unique lilac toned - when it arrived it was definitely pink. Then I found other swatches, more pink based, I still love the colour but it isn't what I thought it would be - luckily for me a Lime Crime one I have is the way the swatch looked.

I bought Broughton Street Nails inc after lusting after it for ages. A dusky cream pink - sounds and looks beautiful on swatches.
But on my nails it offends me. Its just blah, meh. Its such a wrong colour, its just boring and flat. Never felt that way about a polish.I'm going to write a blog post on it.
I added a sheer pink on top and a matt top coat and its stunning that way so I've not wasted my cash but disappointment and a deep dislike of it on its own totally.

Did you mean Bruton Street? If so, I felt exactly the same about it!

I think the polish I have been most disappointed in up to now is Barry M's 'web' effects! It's croc NOT web! I reviewed it on my blog the other day and everyone who commented said they had it/had seen reviews for it and it WASN'T anything like a web! Has anyone else tried it?
My review (plus pictures) isa here if anyone's interested! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

A England St George
My first post! Very interesting reading about everyone's 'fail' purchases. I agree with the comments on St George chipping quickly and was also rather shocked at the terrible brush - very unexpected in what I view as a high end polish. The princess tears brush was equally atrocious - all splayed out and very hard to use. Lovely looking polish though.
Fantasy Fire though - I LOVE that polish so much - its like magic on your nails. It layers beautifully - I would never use it on its own as it is very sheer and I wouldn't want to waste a drop with such a small bottle lol. I have tried it over blue, purple and black - with black you don't see any of the blueish base colour, but the colour shifting sparkle is amazing, especially in the sun or under halogen lights.
