To all you bunker sleepers...is it just because it shuts out sound/light or is it because it makes you feel secure?

Both but I thought sleeping with the door closed was what most people did

When I was at uni and missing home in first year my favourite place to sleep was under my desk - I made myself a little den. Proper cosy!

I used to sleep under the desk (a desk in an office that no one really used as they all worked from home all the time) in my last job. Was a good place to nap off hangovers and hide from people. I even had an airline pillow. Someone mentioned that a newbie found the pillow after I left and had to explain why it was there. I do feel shame at the fact I got away with that for several years.
I love the den feeling of cosyness though, I like the look of those Japanese pod hotel rooms, they look really cosy
Re: What do you love?
Strange isn't it? What's cosy to one person feels confining to another. I asked what it was about "bunker sleeping" you liked because when I've asked my OH about it he just grunts and say "cos I like it that way". As communicative as ever.

Well for me I'm suffered insomnia since I was a child, so I need absolutely nothing adding to the fact that I'm wide awake at 3am!

Oh I do like the idea of them! I'm not so great with small confined spaces but if I could stand or kneel and not hit my head, I'd be happy to sleep in one.ninjajane wrote:kissmenow9 wrote:starrystarry wrote:To all you bunker sleepers...is it just because it shuts out sound/light or is it because it makes you feel secure?

Random one - I love horses and horse riding and I miss it so, so much. I haven't got the money, the time or the means to get to any stables right now so I haven't been in years There's just something incredible that you get from a bond with a horse that I don't think you really get with any other animal.
Re: What do you love?
I love the smell of gorse and gardenia. I have a gardenia flowering in my conservatory at the moment and every so often I get a whiff of the beautiful fragrance. Sadly I still haven't managed to find a perfume yet that actually truly smells like gardenia though.

Re: What do you love?
I was just told by an energy salesman that I look about 17 (I'm 25!). Very very pleased, I hate being old.
Re: What do you love?
Old at 25?! I'd fancy being 25.........
I love tree tunnels in the summer - where the trees that grow by the side of the road arch over and meet eachother at the tops. Magical!

I had a waffle with strawberries and maple syrup for dessert, followed by a Pimms. I'm feeling pretty content right now.
