Re: Nail Luxxe
Thanks Hanspan! I was contemplating the shape for ages but I'm happy with it Definitely do the gradient! Things can get really interesting with the colours
Re: Nail Luxxe
yadda yadda yadda, another person who can gradient. Another person crossed off the christmas card list
In all reality, it looks lovely and I am jealous

Thanks Sally!
I've tried a few gradients before but this is the one I'm most proud of. I did a few thingscorrectly which I probably should have done from the start differently:
Used a makeup sponge
Dampened the sponge once at the beginning (still not sure if this did anything)
Used thinner nail varnish and built up lots of layers
Applied 4 - 6 layers of 'dabbing' waiting for each layer to dry (took about 15 secs for a layer to dry)
Lightly painted (as opposed to dab) the very tip and then dabbed over it
Hopefully revealing my 'secrets' will get me back on the Christmas card list!

Re: Nail Luxxe
Really loving your matte blue and silver mani. I might have mentioned that already.
I acquired Silver Screen recently (a bargain buy in Boyes for just over a quid), I'll have to try and get that blue as well!

Re: Nail Luxxe
hehe yes, you might have been lovely enough to send me a little message
That's a fab bargain with Silver Screen considering they're usually round the £6 mark! Cloud is an older one so that's a cheapie too, which you can get from good old fragrancedirect

Re: Nail Luxxe
There's going to be quite a few since I've been away. Will try to organise them a bit
A border manicure: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
A Matte Diamond Glitter mani which was sort of inspired by the new frosty polishes like Nails Inc Snowflake & Illamasqua Blizzard [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
There's been a few swatches on there recently, of oldies but goodies :
Essie Bahama Mama - A serious favourite of mine! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Revlon - Spanish Moss. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam! which is just beautiful! I really need to get I Have a Herring Problem now [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Then I did some all out Halloween nails, which I found really tricky, especially the spider:

This is a little experiment to PROVE that the 'ice water dries nails' theory is pants!

A few more updates
Firstly, I'm having a giveaway to celebrate the blog being one year old! UK prize is: Mont Bleu glass nail files, Essie Winter 2013 Mini Collection, hand cream, accessories, a full sized Essie and Rimmel Salon Pro.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
A jewel toned manicure. I love these sorts of colours, although it makes me think of that big date in Dec (can't bring myself to talk about it yet)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
and lastly another experiment to see whether putting wet nails under the cold tap dries nails fast, seeing as the ice water method doesn't work
