Re: Late Night Club
I've had vailum and the 5gm stuff before but don't see the point, they just knock you out. How can you get addicted to stuff that just knocks you out? I know people do get addicted but it passed me.
Now pain killers scared me, I had a bad back and had some prescription ones and the woozy buzzy feeling scared me, I really really liked it. Never took them again, would have just ended in tears.

Melatonin is good to try & reset your sleep patterns. You can't get it OTC in the UK but you can ask the docs I think, or do what we do and just order from overseas or get people to buy for us when in the states.

Re: Late Night Club
I got my melatonin from eBay several years ago. They've since banned the sale of it on eBay, but you can still get hold of it pretty easily online. I can PM a link to the seller I used if anybody is interested.
I'm not sure why you can't get it in the UK as it occurs naturally in the body anyway.

I'd guess no-one wants to pay for the testing necessary to get it licenced here. I'd love a link as OH just ordered some randomely last time & somewhere that someone trusts is always good.Babafette wrote:I got my melatonin from eBay several years ago. Re: Late Night Club
short answer - its a hormone that helps regulate circadian rhythms.
Humans produce it naturally and I think the levels go up when it gets dark - and it 'persuades' us to sleep.
taking a small amount a few hours before you want to go to bed can help move your sleep cycle back to where you want if you are inclined to go to bed very late.

Re: Late Night Club
That sounds incredible! It would increase my ability to function and go to work if I could reset my sleeping pattern after a bad night
Re: Late Night Club
Not sure it works after just one dose! I think its something for people with just generally poor sleeping patterns, although you are only supposed to take it for a month or two then stop.
the wikipedia entry is contradictory in places but still quite interesting.

Sorry for posting outside special hours :-) but do the rescue melts work?Babafette wrote:I've tried a few of the natural sleeping remedies such as Nytol and Kalms and they didn't really work for me. I usually use Rescue Remedy Night Liquid Melts or melatonin tablets, but I don't think melatonin is available in the UK.

Re: Late Night Club
I was given some IV morphine once, and I felt it almost hit me in the back of the neck then radiate through my body. I then felt a bit pissed, I loved it, I'm glad I only had it the once as I could have got addicted to thatninjablossom wrote:I've had vailum and the 5gm stuff before but don't see the point, they just knock you out. Re: Late Night Club
Is 5.28am late night or early morning?
Been up since 7.30pm. I work nightshift and it really screws with my days off. I either get next to no sleep or loads!
Got to be up at 11am on Monday

Re: Late Night Club
It's late night when you've been up! I'm so annoyed, my sleeping pattern has shifted again.
Re: Late Night Club
Anyone on?
I just got back from my friend's house, surprised her 9 year old with a pet hamster and stayed for dinner and watched Ted

Re: Late Night Club
I'm so upset and annoyed. I'm not sleeping properly again, it's making me ill during the day and I have work tomorrow. I really hate myself sometimes.
