I wish this was me. I came out with two dresses I couldn't afford.Disco Diva wrote:I must be ill. I went in Primark yesterday and didn't spend a penny, didn't buy a thing I picked up 6/7 things and ended up putting them all down again.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
This month I seem to be lurching from one disaster to another. The garage door broke, then the kettle broke, we had a problem with the electric which in turn appears now to have killed the Sky+ box. So not only will we have to fork out for a new one, but the hard disc was 90% full and I have lost all the programmes I recorded.

Oh, I forgot to add that my PayPal account was hacked last week as well and some f*cker used it to buy lots of credit for online gaming.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
And to top off another fabulous day my vacuum cleaner has now just broken and I have all my family coming to stay tomorrow.
I feel like I'm at the end of my tether today.

Oh no Baba, you're getting far more than your fair share of bad luck. Hope things look up for you soon x

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I've just made a mental note to get the stuff on my Sky+ box watched, in case this happens to us. I'd be devastated.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Baba you poor thing. Still at least you have a good excuse for not cleaning before the visitors;)
I'd be horrified if I lost all the stuff on the sky box - but there's no way I can watch it to stop that being a possibility it would take weeks and weeks of not moving from in front of the telly!

Jings! Ours broke too when we had guests coming over. Had to get the brush and pan out.
Hope it went okay?
Re: What's On Your Mind?
Thanks ladies. I spent some time pootling about in the garden in the sun and felt a bit better. The vacuum cleaner is not fixed and the Sky box is definitely 100% dead. Family are all still here for a while yet..............
I'm really pissed off about the Sky box - it's not very robust if a simple power cut can destroy the hard drive beyond repair. After a bit of Googling it seems it's a common problem. I've had to buy another Sky box on eBay so I really hope that one will be fully working.
I can't believe I'm so upset about losing all the stuff on the Sky box - it's so trivial but really gutting. I had the whole second series of Smash, the third series of Girls, lots of Don't Tell The Bride, Toy Story 1, 2 and 3, Shrek 2 and 3 and several other films, the whole series of The Face USA, the new series of America's Next Top Model, the Escape Artist and lastly my guilty pleasures which cheer me up when I am down are also gone - The Gruffalo, Gruffalo's Child and Room on the Broom.

Poo:( I would be utterly gutted too - I feel your pain.
Some of those you might be able to download from sky - they seem to have all sorts on demand now. Or maybe take a trial subscription to Tesco DVDs or something?

Re: What's On Your Mind?
I guess most of it will eventually be repeated but I am totally gutted. I'll always be wary now that the same thing will happen again in future.
OH's helpful comment was that I should have watched all the recordings, but as you say Han, I would have had to spend weeks in front of the TV to get through it all.

Mum told us all yesterday that her last mammogram didn't come back clear so she has to go for lots more tests at the hospital on Tuesday.

But don't start worrying too much - it's often just cysts. I had the pleasure of needle aspiration several years ago when lumps showed up. Icky but nothing serious in the end.
