Re: What's On Your Mind?
It's my birthday on the 25th and I'm making a wishlist but where I've been so skint the last 4 months I've not kept an eye on what's happening in the polish world. Can't even think of anything I want.

Well it looks like I've got more babies than I thought! I thought there was three but I've seen at least four different coloured babies today so god knows how many are hiding in that massive nest that my Pixie's built! My friends have expressed interest but I'm definitely going to keep one at least hehe

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Feeling so sad and sorry for myself.
It's my birthday tomorrow and for the first time ever I'm not happy or excited about it. It's just making me realise how I've achieved absolutely nothing in my life - stuck in a job with people I labsolutely detest, a boyfriend who will never commit, friends who use me when it suits them ... literally about one step away from bawling my eyes out !
Absolutely dreading tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that Amy Jo. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] It's my birthday tomorrow too and I feel the same way. I've hated my birthday for years though - it just reminds me that I'm getting older, have no friends and hardly any family who give a crap. I even have to work tomorrow when I always make a point of taking the day off.Amy Jo wrote:Feeling so sad and sorry for myself.

I'm going out for a meal tonight so I reckon I'll just get pissed on cocktails.

Oh Amy Jo, I'm so saddened to hear that.
Maybe you could turn your birthday into a starting point for a new and more positive future? Time to reflect and plan a few changes?
We only get one shot at this life lark xxxxxxxxxxxx

Baba, "pissed on cocktails" has made me giggle. xxxxx
I don't understand why you are short of friends - I think you're a star one of the most mellow and kind hearted people I've come across online. You always offer a rational, well balanced and gentle response to any requests for advice on here and have a wicked sense of humour (re: pissed on cocktails!)
Sometimes there just aren't any people in our immediate vicinity who we can truly 'connect' with. It doesn't mean at all that no-one likes you, it just means that you haven't found eachother yet - they're out there somewhere, and you never know when you'll stumble across them x I hope it's soon. xxx

Completely agree with this.
Re: What's On Your Mind?
what a lovely post Loola!
I went through a few years feeling like. 2 years ago I didn't like many of the people I called friends really, hated my job, was in an on off relationship with a guy who made me feel so insecure because he would never commit. I ended up jacking it all in and going travelling (again, 3rd time I'd essentially just ran off from life!) I realised I was trying to live my life on other peoples terms and not my own, I wasn't doing what I wanted. I'm still doing an office type job, but I have friends I actually like now, and am doing stuff in my spare time I love.
Life can be over wealming at times, to see what you need to change. But your birthday is just a day, and there will be plenty more! :)My reaction might be extreme but maybe write down what you want to achieve and see what sticks out as something you can start working on, like a new course or joining a club of something you like doing to meet new people (running clubs, book clubs etc) and like Loola says use tomorrow as the start of a new life! and have a few cocktails

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Awww ladies, I wish I could take you both out for birthday cocktails!
I put up an event on Facebook for my birthday the other day, every year when I do the invites I realise how few friends I still have left in this town. All the people I want to invite are miles and miles away. It gets very depressing

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Thanks ladies, Loola what you said was really sweet. Every year I try and make an effort to be less grumpy on my birthday - after all it is just one day and as you get older I suppose it's no different to any other day. I guess I just spend a lot more time reflecting on my life as another year goes by.
Work is bad again today and I'm feeling very unsettled so I'm going to escape the office at lunchtime and go and have my eyebrows threaded. It hurts like a bitch but at least it always looks neat. The only problem is I have sensitive skin (and rosacea) so my brows will be bright red for hours afterwards.
I'm looking forward to my cocktails now.

Re: What's On Your Mind?
Shame you can't have the cocktails before the threading Baba, it would hurt a lot less
Slap on some BB cream afterwards? it'll hide the redness and moisturise the tender red angry skin too. You wanna see my top lip after the Immac-ing
I hope you have a wonderful evening out tonight, I'll be thinking of you whilst the Cubs are running wild (then I have to go to Tesco's and after that knock up a moustache cake for the other birthday girl. No rest for the wicked!) xxxxxxxxx

I do!
I don't get this 'tache thing either. Why the youth of today are fascinated by mens facial hair is beyond me. They seem to favour the really creepy handlebar style too.
I guess realistically it's just peer pressure and marketing:shock:
I think I like mama bear Sue!

Counting down the hours until my cocktails...... At £5 a pop I'm not sure how many I'll manage to get though.
Excuse me in advance if I come on here when tipsy later tonight!

Re: What's On Your Mind?
God, my town really needs a decent cocktail bar. All we've got is two Wetherspoons, two clubs that people keep getting raped in, three that people keep getting stabbed in and one that the owner randomly decides to ban you from if he feels in the mood.

shouldn't people be buying you them as its your birthday?
Re: What's On Your Mind?
Well it's not actually my birthday until tomorrow but it is my birthday meal tonight so I may get bought one or two. They are expensive though, so I wouldn't expect people to buy them for me.ninjablossom wrote:shouldn't people be buying you them as its your birthday?Babafette wrote:Counting down the hours until my cocktails......
